Its a longshot, but I wonder if/when some of these vendors will start to look at the retarded things LTT does with their hardware, that causes them to break, and ask themselves "Is this good marketing?". Rather than showing off how useful the gear is, half the time they just blame the hardware/software for not being robust enough to handle the jankiest of jury rigging that they go through with it. Its not a good look for the plebs to start to associate your brand with "constantly failing servers" or the like.

Gonna have an unpopular opnion but besides the cuckholding jokes, I didn't hated Jake on that video and the video itself. They did a pretty good job this time on the server but they're still probably using HDD's from the same lot on it, so it can go south.

I was away for a week but while I don't like LTX and would never go to it, it's a great event for people Level1Techs, STH and other channels. For example, Tech Tangents went to the last LTX before that and because his channel is a bit niche, it got a lot of viewers and subs from going there. Unfortunately, Linus is the biggest tech channel out there and with other big attendees, LTX is a very good event for techtubers.

IIRC, Linus doesn't charge for a youtuber to attend on it, while they vet and select who will joing where they will be on the venue the youtubers who attends doesn't get money from the ticket sales or get it's trip paid, which is fair IMO. So if I was a techtuber I would go to LTX if I was asked to but I wouldn't go for myself

No, because the retards in marketing just see how many subs and views LTT gets without actually watching the dross being pumped out using their products as props for comedy sketches that are about as funny as a middle school end-of-year revue.

It's on WAN but I haven't gotten that far yet in my weekend honeydo listening, they mentioned it in the beginning and said the guy got a talking to and they have something they'll do moving forward. Like I said earlier, it seemed like the engineers are the least autistic in LTT in both speech and physical appearance and were starting to assert dominance, of course the little leaf with pierced ears will have to show he's the top dog even though it's obvious to everyone he made labs to fuck with GN, so why get mad when your employees are actually supporting your endeavor (true or not).

He explained why he doesn't use a cloud service. Also, this was his local backup server. The data is also duplicated at either his parent's house or the office, can't remember which.
 
Linus and his crew shouldn't be let within 20 feet of anything watercooling. The latest video with yet another pc for his rack that they fuck up and nearly soak it because they are retarded. Its amazing how many staff members he has doing jobs around his house and none of them can build a functional PC.
I await the day his "pool cooled" system fucks up and ruins the entire rack.

I said it before, it's a novel idea; but something more suitable for a lab/test environment, not something for a house with a family of 5 (3 of them being children). Because if/when something goes wrong, you can't just wait for dad to get home; you're gonna need a team to get shit done in a timely manner, and if Linus isn't gonna be able to strong-arm his employees to go and help, he'll bitch about the cost of getting a professional to drain all the water from his basement and everything the water destroyed (all while hopefully not electrocuting someone).

Especially with how much of a tech sperg he is; the second something bigger and better comes along, time to undo all your work. Upgrades and overall maintaining is a pain in the ass for a home (see: leisure) setup. Just imagine the nanny calling Linus at work to say something's wrong and he's yelling/asking her all this tech specific shit she doesn't know.

Way to over-engineer a solution to a problem nobody has ever had. Just an extremely retarded way for a multimillionaire techbro to flex his wealth instead of buying an expensive luxury car like a regular rich fuck.
  • rack mounted consumer grade gaymer hardware
  • water cooled everything routed to a pool (that's yet to be finished BTW)
  • brittle fiber optic cables all over the house instead of comparatively easier and cheaper to route CAT6
  • single point of failure, if something catches fire in that room everything is fucked
All of this just to have a bog standard PC display from a small dock, which probably adds some latency not to mention it reduces the amount of available USB ports. So arguably it's a worse experience than a regular PC, at least the asshole millionaire gets to ride his luxury car that is actually better than a regular car.

All other points are valid but I'm going to advocate for fiber in the home for 10 gig retards. It's nowhere near as fragile as it may seem, they have made serious advancements in the last couple of decades and you can pretty much get away with anything short of compressing it or tying a knot. It's cheaper too, $11 for 15m of OM3 fiber vs $15 for cat6 at FS and where 10 gig is a dice roll for cat6 cables at that length, OM3 cables must be able to do 10 gig at 300 meters and 100 gig at 100 meters to be considered OM3.

If you're a computer sperg, fiber is a great choice especially since 10GBASE-T hardware is retardedly expensive still vs 10GBASE-SR modules ($20 at FS for an SR transceiver, $69 for copper SFP+!) and those 10GBASE-T modules run fucking hot so God help you if you load up one of those fanless Mikrotik switches with a shit load of them.

My only problem with fiber is that for some reason the rats fucking loved to chew it! I had to replace the same run 3 times before I finally killed them all off.

I thought it was known fiber can handle vibration prone environments. BMW has been using fiber optic data cables since ~2006 for their audio system wiring in certain trims/packages. I wouldn't be surprised if it's standard by now in all trims.

aesthetically already dated. They did not show any of the restraint a luxury carmaker would show, and the overly swoopy aesthetic becomes banal when every soy has one. This is equivalent to mid-2000s Hyundai designs, just less copy-paste

Overall it's a $50,000+ shitbox that comes with most shitbox caveats, but also requires advanced trip planning and charging strategies as opposed to just showing up somewhere swiping a credit card and dumping fuel into a tank.

The only positive is that tesla fanboyism is a convenient shortcut you can use to know quickly whether someone's opinions can be discarded, kind of like how obnoxious tattoos are an instant tell that a woman isn't wife material.

Some video editor youtuber (who has the most basic bitch editing in this video that doesn't stand out) went to LTX, tranny attendee at 3:12. First half is LTX, the back half is just youtuber talking to audience about whatever, didn't care. What she shows of the convention really makes it look more bland than Level 1's video did.

It's mainly showing LTT and having Dennis show other tech youtubers around, and ex-employee Brandon is there and becomes more tech autist. Dennis is still likable, I see the Plainrockvlog guy is there which is weird because he seems like he would be the first to scream "tranny tranny tranny" to everyone. I didn't know I hated them before this but I hate video editing youtubers, they seemed to have leveled up in secret to be as annoying as indie music hipsters to say why camera lens X or Y is the best when you look like fucking idiots walking around with all that stuff out instead of just using your phone.
