How many views in the first 12-24 hours does a video need to become a trending video? If this video reaches this threshold and The Algorithm starts pushing it out, how long will it be until Linus screeches to his partner manager at YT to get it shut down?

You don't even need to be a big name. My channel is under 5,000 and I have access to the built-in editor. So unless I got blessed (for some weird fucking reason), it's a tool most people (maybe you need adsense) should have.

I just checked out of curiosity. My 0 subscriber channel also has this same editor with the clipping thing in case somebody says a gamer word or whatever. The thing Steve said was that large channels like LTT could do way more, including just dropping in a new video without affecting views/analytics/algorithm ranking 1984-style acting like the new upload was the original whereas a normal channel would have to delete and then re-upload.

Can 100% confirm. I use TubeArchivist for my personal YT archive and I have the exact videos GN is talking about. They were replaced. From skipping through them, they were not just trimmed, but entire sections were added/removed/moved around, edits were made, etc

Arrived late due gym and work but here are a few of my ramblings.

The best thing about GN video was that, besides the bias segment, everything he showed had a concrete proof of it and for Linus to sweep it under the rug like he did all the other times will be very hard.

I believe Linus has a PR nightmare in front of him now and the only way that I can see for him to get out of it is to step down from his pedestal, give an heartfelt apology(the "never apologize" statement that he follows is retarded) and making changes instead of promising them. If he don't bring that into account in the next days or in the WAN show(who I bet will be their most viewed one), he will have problems in sub growth or lost in his hand.

JaysTwoCents did a video today which was more of a Housekeeping video; and in it you see this meek little server rack in the corner and eventually Jay points it out "There's our server." It's not even a full sized cabinet, just one of those little 20U on wheel type things.

I think he was building a PC for his sister or something like that. In that video, they talk about childhood and then it comes up that Linus wet his bed well past the age you should. Well that doesn't sound too bad you might think; until you realize that bed-wetting past normal years is a sign of molestation. I'm not saying Linus was molested, I'm just saying he admitted to wetting the bed well past the age you should... combine that with his weird family life now.

An important part of GN's video is calling out Linus' fans. The thing that enables Linus to get away with all the crap talked about in this thread is that his fans don't hold him accountable. If they did, GN wouldn't have to do a call-out video outlining all this stuff; LTT would take care of it organically.

Sprinkled throughout this thread are comments and corrections that people on YT, the LTT forums, and Twitter have made. Linus consistently writes them off or deflects the criticism, and his 10 million simps dogpile anyone who tries to elevate the issue. So instead of having a self-correcting cycle between his viewers and his staff, he just distributes content and plows ahead to the next video. That leads to tolerance of increasingly large mistakes, and the crunch of insane video output schedules.

The only time Linus got held to account was the "trust me bro" warranty, and his fans were NOT the drivers of that pushback. When Steve and others called attention to the warranty, the fans were defending Linus, not holding him accountable.

Linus is a doofus and/or asshole in over his head, but his supporters really deserve a lot of the blame as well.
