Can someone give me a quick rundown on who this madison woman is? I've read her tweets and for the most part it seems like She was kinda just shit at her job in a workplace that was also shit to work in and maybe got grabbed a bit.

Who is she? why was she hired?why didn't she just quit? why are women?

She won a contest where Linus built her a PC. IIRC she spent the entire time making bad jokes and fun of Linus.

Simps went mad for her and said Linus should hire her so they could jack it to a young redhead instead of Tranthony. She eventually was hired, I remember her hosting one video and she disappeared. Later she quit and left a glass door review saying everyone there was trying to fuck her or telling her to man up and take people out for drinks.

Not defending Mossad Troon Bits here. But his attitude is directly encouraged by the state of journalism in the tech and entertainment space. It's not about being an unbaised consumer advocate. It's about getting companies to notice you so they can make sponsorship deals that make lots of money. That's always been the objective for at least 20 years now. Actually informing the consumer isn't as effective as a business model for several reasons. I know a few video game journalists. They don't see their job or business model as reviewing games and talking about the industry from a consumer perspective. They see their job as getting the most companies to network with them or their publication for monetary compensation and if you point out the complete breach of ethics this entails. They just roll their eyes. Because you were never their audience. Why would they admit a mistake and fix an ethical breach when companies they want money from don't care about them to begin with? It's a wasted business expense that could be put towards ventures to acquire more capital.

I don't see anything wrong here. She literally answers herself why it was ANNOUNCED before she RECEIVED the contract. If she can type it down on Twitter and doesn't comprehend what she's writing then it's good she didn't get it.

I finally finished this Epic of BPDamesh. My opinion is that Linus's company is a badly run shit hole. And this autistic and narcissistic woman constantly whined and complained to overworked and mistreated people who were then annoyed at her. And this resulted in them saying harsh things to her and not trying to help her out or be reasonable with her. Because that's what annoyed people do. And she lacks the emotional maturity or social awareness to realize that if you act annoying and make things harder on people. They are less likely to help you with your stuff. That's just how it works in an office. I don't deny she was treated badly. But it's not sexism. It's just showing a mutual respect and empathy for other people in the same shitty situation you are. And when that is not received reflecting the bad vibes they are giving you back at them. People are much more willing to comprimise or give you what you want if you just phrase your words and give off the vibe of being empathetic or understanding of their issues. Instead of taking their general shortness and iritability as a personal attack.

I don’t doubt Madison was annoying to work with, but that’s what being the social media manager is like. It’s her job to go around and make people record thirty second clips who really have better things to do. Usually that’s fine, the social media manager isn’t a full-time position and they either work part time or have other duties, they bother one person per day and then go off elsewhere to write copy or something. But LTT had her do social media full time, and expected ridiculously high quotas of her. Three TikToks and five instagram pictures per day IIRC. I’d struggle to come up with ideas for a single reasonable TikTok per day. And then she has to actually execute on these, wrangling up the people who will be participating, setting up lights in the office for a quick behind-the-scenes shoot, etc. Probably needed to wrangle up a cameraman and editor too, since Linus has such silly expectations of quality. Sure it’s just a minute long when you view it on TikTok, but hours of work still go into something that short. I’m an engineer and I’ll say with no hesitation that social media manager at Linus Media Group is probably harder and more challenging work. Linus overworks and underpays all his employees, just because “social media manager” sounds like a cushy kind of “just sass back to people on Twitter a few times a day” job doesn’t mean it actually is. She had a lot to do, she would have been annoying colleagues doing it, and with everyone else so overworked it’s no wonder they snap back at her when she’s just doing her job. Then add to that being a woman who has to manage an onlyfans profile they for some reason had while working with tech bros under evidently clearly sexist management and she would have had a miserable time.

From personal experience, when I befriended the social media girl at my company, she ended up coming by almost every day to check up on me because very few people were willing to put their work down for an hour to help her out. And unlike Madison, her job was basically consequence-free. If someone fell an hour behind because they helped her make a video then nobody cared, and if she couldn’t wrangle anyone charismatic enough to put in front of a camera on a given day and had to resort to putting up a simple photo of something, that was also fine. It wouldn’t have been fine with Linus. Drag Riley away from his work for an hour and Riley will get in trouble for falling behind, or fail to find someone willing to help and Madison won’t get enough content for the day and she’ll get in trouble instead. After the first time, Riley will know that helping Madison cost him too much time, and he won’t help her any more. This adds to Madison’s burden because now she needs to find someone else, and then she’ll have to burn bridges with them too. And that’s before you consider managing an onlyfans account while suffering sexual harassment from the likes of “intellectual misogyny is awesome” James, or “sexual favours in exchange for floatplane exposure” Linus, or “I’m Jake” Jake.

Yeah Madison has issues, she/theming and gouging her leg open to get sick days is evidence enough of that, but let’s not pretend she went nuts because “she had to send a couple twitter posts a day”. Her job was genuinely hard work.

Forcing anyone to use a coomer platform is unacceptable unless it's explicitly said in before a contract is signed and so is being forced to see your boss on underwear. I'm surprised on how this isn't an issue yet

Forcing a male - or anybody - to handle the OnlyFans account for your tech review channel is unacceptable.

The proper thing would be to ask for a volunteer and then fire everyone who raises their hand.

I wonder if Floatplane is having an existential crisis. Video hosting is not cheap, it's actually very expensive, it's probably even worse at low scale. I suspect Floatplane isn't proftable when you actually consider all the costs involved, without invisible subsidies from LTT. I dunno, it always seems like a dumb idea since it's like "pay us to use an obscure platform to view content you can mostly already see on youtube", joy.
