Steve has his own pathologies. I recall a video about Thermaltake where Steve thought he had an 'AH HA!' moment. It was something about the temperature decrease in Celsius, and using Celsius the decrease was some 'large' percent decrease.

Steve argued that it was BS because if Thermaltake used Kelvin (because physics!) then the percent decrease was much smaller, so their marketing is nonsense.

Ain't no one using Kelvin outside of specific disciplines.

Nah, he was correct, he just presented it in the most autistic way possible. You can't claim "this fan keeps the computer at 56 degrees while our competitor's product only manages 62 degrees, that's a 10% improvement!" because you need the reference point (in this case 0 degrees) to make sense (ambient temperature is the obvious candidate). Thermaltake should have included a "* in relation to an ambient temperature of 20 degrees." and adjusted whatever percentage it was they claimed to match that. Steve choosing to set the reference point at absolute zero is technically correct, but retarded.

It's all relative from a reference point. From absolute zero, from 0 degrees Celsius, or from your competitor. Obviously from your competitor (-10%) is marketing, but it is not incorrect, but may not be the most applicable. More technical people will dig into the details; e.g., in this case 6 degrees C difference may be more important to consider.
The fact that Steve was so sanctimonious about 0 Kelvin was not just retarded, but SUPER retarded. TL;DR - it really doesn't matter unless you want to be a pedantic autist.

This is an interesting thing from the WAN show, showing more to Linus than he thought. At 2:25:00 there he is expanding to a question someone asked about doomer mentality regarding living expenses and real estate, and Linus talked about meeting Yvonne early and because they were synced up were able to get in on things early when now it would be impossible ie housing, having kids, etc. This leads to Linus at 2:35:00 (so worried about his poor parenting he is) considering renting a smaller house for a year and both he and Yvonne living on smaller middle class salaries (and vehicles) in order to teach his kids humility, because they have everything given to them and live in one of the richest cities with no worries. This leads to a lot of the chat talking past him about how he's going to make his kids not feel rich by doing things only rich people could do, and also him wanting them to learn limits by minimizing their extracurricular activities, because they are able to do anything.

His intentions are good but but it screams of someone spoiling his kids and realizing he might have created monsters, and trying to fix it with as hard on the brakes as he can, because in his words he doesn't want his kids to hang out with other rich kids, because he didn't like them when he was in school. Yvonne also told him of one of her ex-coworkers at the Costco Pharmacy who was from a rich family yet asked for nothing from the family and did her own thing in life and was normal, but he believes at best he could maybe have 1 of the 3 kids turn out normal. It is 15 minutes of Linus realizing all the things he did for clicks in his McMansion will ruin his personal life. This also makes me more convinced his son did kill the cat.

This connects a bit to something from a previous WAN Show I heard but don't care enough to look up because the show is getting very bland, but he talked about how he doesn't like the Labour party and isn't going to vote for them yet doesn't know where to go, and thinks about voting NDP (even gayer leftists in Canada). He seems to completely understand the housing crisis, the cost of living being broken, even recognizing Chyna buying up real estate, yet he won't do anything to actually address that because to fix the problems makes him the evil boss who his tranny employees will gladly sacrifice for The Message.

And if the kids are already off the rocker, this is naive and will just make them worse off. They're already on the rich train, that's 'normal' for them. Trying to suddenly drag them into something closer to what average people experience is just going to develop resentment in the kids, a shitty home life full of stress and conflict, and that stress and conflict could quite possibly fuck up your entire marriage. You don't have a lot of choices. You could keep going and hope they just turn out the normal kind of rich kid who takes some of the families money, starts their own business, and does something with themselves - You'll need to focus into their education to actually put them into a place to succeed, mainly social circles and not degrees. If they rebel against the wealth then they'll just go and larp as poor people for a while but you can't do anything about that, and that rebelling is usually due to resentment over being seen as advantaged by their desired peers, so it at least means they're aware. Or, you can dial up the silver spoon and try to pivot them into the actual upper strata of society, but that requires a very strong hand on them and for you to have some very good social circles you're involved with already.

Dumping them into a suburban newbuilt and larping as middle class is just the kind of retarded thing I can see Linus doing, and I guarantee you he also thought of it from an LTT content angle - He's done the super tech house, now he's gonna do the budget tech house for the budget lifestyle.

He's not unique in this, in Canada at least. I know a LOT of left wing people who feel completely lost politically right now - The parties aligned with them are aligned in name only, and the parties opposing the stupidity have the right wing label on them. They're feeling completely disenfranchised because they don't have anyone who supports what they want. The problem is they want right wing policies done under a left wing name, which doesn't really exist in Canada.

The general belief among "experts" is that children develop their sense of who they are and want to be by age 8, and by age 12, it's more or less set in stone. I don't know how old Linus's children are, but I'm betting they're all somewhere in or at the edge of that age range. The best he could do now is love and care for them and try to guide them, but it's going to be a struggle to have them be non-bougeious, especially since they already experienced the good life of dad's insane tech addiction. Unironically, one of the best things he might do is spend their school holidays working the family farm; you want to teach your kids what it's like outside of the good life, it's not smaller house in the suburbs; it's bailing hay and other shit. But even then, okay, you're rich, and Yvonne is an Asian mother... your kids are gonna have the college experience, and you're gonna pay for it, and then they're free from you. Your time to instill values and shit has mostly passed.

I'm sure it's not just Canada. I've felt like this since 2009ish or so; I generally lean right when it comes to the whole left/right thing, but I knew John McCain had dirty bank dealings and couldn't even vote for him against Obama, so I wrote in "Leotheras the Blind" which is a World of Warcraft boss in as a spoiler for our 2008 Presidential Election. And it fucking sucks, because I try to believe in what the Conservatives argue; smaller government, more freedom, rule of law, etc. But I don't go as hard on some things, because I recognize that extenuating circumstances do exist, namely abortion; rape, incest, all that stuff, and I'll even go a bit further and say for provable disabilities, like if your children are gonna be a Hartley Hooligan, that's no way for anyone to live, death would be a mercy for the child and parent who will never see their child reach anything resembling normal. I also think that if we can billions of dollars to foreign nations, like Israel, we can cut our own people some fucking slack and maybe even have a few of our own social programs to help our own; and don't get me wrong, cash welfare and shit like we have now isn't the answer either. So where am I, honestly, I've started saying National Socialist more and more; because I'm not that fucking hardcore about saving babies and am too much of a fucking commie in regards to where our tax dollars go, but I'm not fucking enough of an insane liberal because I think citizenship should mean something and think if we're gonna argue math and science, we might want to accept that for 99.9999% of humans, we are male/female and crime statistics might be something to consider. Green party is a joke everywhere, idiot tree hippies. So your only two choices on the national level is a slow yet principled destruction, or a fast no apologies destruction wrapped in "authentic food." The issue is that there are always just superficial disagreements on detail but no party is ever truly opposition. For example, dems want unlimited immigration, republicans want legal immigration, but you don't have the option to vote for zero immigration or negative immigration.

There's a website called vote compass where you can answer questions and it tells you what party you most align with. I have done a few (Australia, Cuckada) even though a lot of the issues I have no idea about and the thing that strikes me about Cuckada is that according to this website, all parties are leftoids except mainline conservatives who are center-left who sucked the girldick last elections and le evil right wing party that is basically early 90s democrats who cuck for Israel and want limited immigration.

When spergs say there is no political solution, I am forced to agree and TALMUD-19 proved the average voter is niggercattle and their opinions don't matter. It's the 10% of real bonda fide human beings that can make a difference and it must be done outside of the realm of votes, either by economic power (see Inbev getting rekt after the Bud Light Tranny Piss fiasco) or just developing a parallel culture that will draw in more and more of the non-humans and influeence culture to the point politicials will not be able to ignore it. Problem with this is that it is an excruciatingly slow process. As we saw with Brandon things can get really bad really fast if the wrong people get voted in.

Of course he's gonna keep the TV, having to re-crate and send it back would be unfeasible anyway. Also it gives linus bragging rights of being the only one in his rich neighborhood to have one. Not like any of his employees live in a place big enough for it either.
