Checking social blade you can see they're down pretty bad when it comes to overall monthly views. They still get a LOT - no doubt due to the frequent upload schedule and massive backlog of videos in the algorithm. But their average 1-2 years ago was between 80-100 million per month now they're only netting around 65 million. Hopefully that's enough to sustain their 120+ employee workforce and 30 million dollar indoor tennis court!

For most channels this would be fine, especially if they were in the "maintenance phase" of a channel's lifecycle. But Linus is never satisfied and has ruthlessly pursued reckless horizonal expansion as much as possible. He's admitted how expensive his more recent investments have been and running the company now is
far more expensive than it was back in late 2022 when they were picking up 100m views per month.
