JayZ2C had a surprise interview with the NXZT founder. It's kinda interesting. He claims he owns most of the mistakes, but does dance around some of it. The rentals were contracted out to another company (Fragile), but the program was all NZXT branded. He claims some of the price increases Steve saw were due to sales tax changes, and that Steve should have gotten an e-mail about the increase with an option to cancel.

It reminds me of the NewEgg people meeting Steve (I never finished that one; couldn't stand all the fucking masks. I never had a problem with NewEgg, never buy referbs anymore and hate Amazon, so it didn't change my buying habits).

I wonder what the other side of this will be. Will Steve expose how this owner/CEO is lying and provide more proof? In the original GamersNexus video, I distinctly remember them not going into the cancellation fees. They briefly mentioned it and it was what I wanted to know more about.

I like GamersNexus, but I do wonder if their due diligence is going to fail them at some point.

I don't own any NZXT stuff. I bought a single NZXT case from Microcenter years ago because it was the cheapest case and one I had crowd funded wouldn't arrive for another month or so. I finally sold it on craigslist last year. I went back through my e-mails and it looks like I've never ordered any other NZXT stuff. For those who have some NZXT gear, you think this will change your purchasing in the future?

he just like me fr...

nzxt has always seemed like some kind of nigger psuedo-premium brand for copers and seethers that want to seem like they have fancy shit but can't actually afford it. i've never specficailly discounted them in any of my purchasing decisions up to now, but they never had anything with the functionality I needed except that one time - which was the cheapest possible case with the most possible 3.5" hdd mounts per dollar. which was 8, 13 if you count converting the 5.25" bays.

He has a room full of writers and no one mentioned the custom LCD? That's like the only unique thing about it.

I've been around for a while, but not sure how far back the dysfunction goes. Regardless, doesn't take coordination for a writer to decide to take that cue.
The writer may have taken a cue but I wonder if he just assumed it would get fact-checked by an editor because Linus doesn't seem to be reliable enough catch stuff like that before saying it on video. If he ever reviewed something from a lolcow company, he'd be sued in a heartbeat.

LTT devolved into tech entertainment years ago. GN is tech detail heavy but tech has plateaued recently and there's only so much extra FPS percentage you can show

LTT ought to get back to tech detail -- which they tried and clearly failed at -- and now GN is going a bit more into the lifestyle stuff. Steve isn't pussywhipped like Linus (she's the one who does the actual operating of the company clearly) and she wants him to cash out and coast on the $. Linus is clearly into tech and has charisma but the YouTube content creation gravy train ended.

Can't blame him tbh

The one thing NZXT does that I like, is they make shrouds for their motherboards. As something with a mostly white build, I'd kill for a white shroud for my motherboard; but all non-NZXT options are quasi-sketchy dudes with 3D printers, and they only service a few specific models. I haven't bought an NZXT motherboard, because it doesn't have all the options I need; so my white build suffers, because I guess most people like looking at all the slots and components and shit.

Giving a shit what the inside of your computer looks like is pure faggotry.

The Cyanide and Happiness video a few months back talked about how they were scaling back as well, and they actually displayed real revenue numbers. The ad return looks like shit now

If you remember back in 2017 when they made a deal with that one app Blackpill to create the show Purgatony which was exclusive to that all at the time. The writer was in the comments for the announcement trailer arguing with fans and saying it had to be on that app because YouTube wasn’t paying enough to fund their cartoons, purgatony is interesting because they tried really hard to make it a hit.
Blackpill first where it bombed, then it aired on the Syfy tv channel and bombed then they uploaded it to YouTube and it bombed again. Odd because their three other shows, Channelate, Blubburbs and The Stockholm’s never got a similar push. And now thes make shorts they are more as than short
Opening a badminton center for a "tech" Youtube channel is running it like a business?

I was curious about the subreddit's opinion on the layoffs (if they're even aware) and ran across this:

Stop looking at ex-employees LinkedIn accounts, chuds! It's parasocial! :story:
It’s Amazing how these fanboys are so brainwashed that they don’t seem to realize that LMG isn’t a YouTube channel, it’s a corporate entity, are all the video game industry layoffs also people just being parasocial creeps? Lol

Luke has got to be sweating right now: there's no way Floatplane has ever been profitable - it has barely any users and must cost a fortune to run.
The exclusive videos are all shit since they know any worthwhile video needs to be on YouTube(a reason why all YouTubers with their own platform fails) but more importantly, the name has always been awful. Why the fuck is it called Floatplane? That name doesn’t describe what the product is, it doesn’t roll off the tongue, and it isn’t memorable. No one uses floatplane because nobody knows what the hell it is.
Good god. I never fully understood the hate boner that people had for LTT and specifically for his house which frequently gets mentioned, but this video is so frustrating to watch and eye opening for me.

I suppose it is "interesting" for people who are looking into home automation and fringe technologies in that arena, but the whole house setup is totally shit and its frustrating to watch this. Whatever credibility LTT had as a "nerd/geek" has totally gone out the fucking window and he's doing nothing more than buying off the shelf chinesium and adding to the world's pile of ewaste.

It's such a massively over the top setup for a fucking house, and you would think if you were spending that amount of money you'd at least get an expert to come in and do a consultation before buying all of that shit but of course the comments are filled with input from electricians who say that his choices are retarded.

The house looks completely devoid of personality and is so fucking overkill. I guess the only redemeeding value this has is to prove that smarthome stuff is still dogshit and people should totally avoid it.

I really hate that nerd/geek stuff and gayming got commercialized - I hope Linus' paycheck was worth it.

Really sad to see this, I lad hiked Doubt up until now.
there’s also the distaste of a multi-millionaire getting everything in his house for free and getting it installed for “free” by forcing his employees to install it all while simultaneously being paid ungodly amounts of money for installing it in the process. Most big YouTubers keep things modest for a reason. Unless you’re the Paul brothers or Mr. Beast who entire content genre is “we’re rich douchebags come watch out life” most audiences have a distaste for the idea of someone getting rich off them. Linus fans often say the kitchen era was the best, and Linus even rebuilt a kitchen set initially in the studio to call back to this. People liked the kitchen era because it mixed high quality content with modest settings, it felt real and not corporate. These videos of him showing off an expensive house filled with expensive stuff kills the “I’m one of you” facade and makes Linus look like a greedy wealth flaunting youtuber, which again, only works if you’re the Pauls or Mr. Beast.

or growing his vibrant badminton side hustle.
You know, I thought it was retarded that 8-bit guy opened a barcade pizzeria. But even that seems like a better business model than a fucking badminton center. That sport is far too niche to be a main attraction. What’s next? A Squash court?
Linus flew Mighty Car Mods to Canadastan to do a near total remake of Plouffe's Civic.

LTT video

MCM video

I like car renovations but this car has probably already been stolen. And I do hate all that new stuff but such a shitty Linus paintjob.
I hate that they decided to ruin the transmission by making it a manual without even asking if that was okay. Yeah, manual cars *can* be better, but only if the driver is actually capable of taking advantage of that. Which Plouffe is not. The shitty screw driver shifter also makes me rage. Also, the video makes people think a K-Swap is simple and easy and not a tens of thousands of dollar ordeal that completely changes the way the car was designed to work and feel. Not to mention that doing this absolutely tanked the fuel economy, the one benefit of a Honda civic.
Plus, all these rice rocket mods just made the 2004 civic pretty much useless. You’re never going to find someone who wants this exact kind of set up for a 2004 civic. If plouffe ever wants to sell this car, he will be forced to tear it apart and sell it piece by piece.

I don't think i've ever seen a single person using a dbrand skin.
Due to the fact that they shill so much money at Linus, I know a ton of people who refuse to ever use their products. But even without that, fheir designs suck ass.

I think they put the food out because they started earlier yesterday, to a point eurocucks could watch the show live, hence the british goods on the table. I think James is the current temp show writer.

As I wrote that previous post it seems there's ANOTHER stupid home theater thing Linus did for his setup, making a 3D theater that took almost 2 years and it's just as tone deaf as a liberal politician acting like things are fine in the world, dude desperately needs some humility check. They already changed the title of the video, when I first looked it said "A 3D transformation in my basement theater" or something to that effect.

I love how his son doesn’t give a damn and disrespects him. On one hand, he’s every rich douchebag child. On the other hand, he’s well aware his dad is a bitch and he’s acting like the alpha male and embarrassing him on camera in front of millions
How is it possible that Linus always seems to do things in the most expensive, confusing, and complicated way? This has been an ongoing project of his for two years and he spent over $8,000 USD on this? He could have put together a comparable setup in just 1 afternoon for 1/5 the price.
hell, he could have gone even cheaper and bought a couple Quest 3’s, set up a big screen server , connected the host quest to a Pc and then used any 3D movie file to watch even better quality 3D movies in VR simulating a private imax theatre
Steve at GN blasts NZXT and their rent a system scam, even gives up NZXT ad accounts. The pressure is now on Linus to ignore as much as he can.

he ignores everything, he’s the biggest corporate shill on YouTube. Kinda like how the CEO sat down with Jayztwocents and all the LTT fans are claiming that it was better because steve is “sensationalist”
Linus gets called out by Palmer Luckey for not doing even basic research on his autistic game boy clone project before covering it.

Not saying this is the most egregious error ever, but it's just more proof LTT never ditched the "fuck research, just go film something and say whatever you want" mentality that got them in hot water during the Gamers Nexus drama. Being too lazy to even read the documentation that came with it isn't a good look.
I like that his defense was “I doubt your product is gonna be successful enough to justify your tech”
Like, dude, way to be a massive dickhead. You know nothing about the financials, the vision, or the standards of quality. This product has always just been a stupidly high end gameboy clone, and stupid high quality niche products usually go beyond what would be logical. Maybe don’t accuse people of lying and then mock them publicly when called out for it. It’s not like your company is meant to research and review…oh wait, it is.
I've been around for a while, but not sure how far back the dysfunction goes. Regardless, doesn't take coordination for a writer to decide to take that cue.

And I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest to hear that his personal wealth was probably far more stable than Linus (Dunno about Jay but cars are a huge sink) - Dude doesn't really seem to flex anything, never looking for an excuse to show off some new gadget he's getting to 'test drive' or the like. Strikes me as the kind of guy to just sit on what money he's made, conclude he's set for life, and just focus on doing the same shit he likes to do anyway instead of trying to live up to the wealth like Linus and his mansion.
from what he’s shown of the GN studio, it’s modest and the team is only as large as it’s needed. They have a lot of major tech, but it’s all stuff meant to be used for their testing, like they bought a sound chamber that Apple previously owned so they could do the best sound profile testing, they bought thermal cameras to test heat, but none of that was meant to be flashy or cool. It makes their content better because their numbers are most accurate, similarly, the only flourish their office has is a small room that was turned into a gym for their employees to exercise. It’s not a huge gym, but it has some weights and a proper floor.
They’re also in North Carolina, far cheaper than Vancouver. I think the best irony is that when Linus bought the lab, he claimed it was to be a true competitor to GN because “competition is good”

Steve uploaded a video tearing down all the lies(and bringing up that NZXT casually dropped that he used an AMEX card. He is now saying in both this video and in community posts that he had a new lead about more shady NZXT stuff that will take time to investigate

Got damn, Jayz2c cut right through the "veil".
The reason you can't buy the PC's off is because NZXT already sold it to fragile. Fragile doesn't want it known that they exist, so you can't buy it off them.

This actually solves my boggle.

I also like that they fired it off in the first five minutes, so I don't have to watch Johnny for an hour.

I just watched Linus' review of the iPhone 16. And Linus looks like a bus driver.

The vest he's wearing is called the "Tech Bro Vest". They are selling it on LTTStore for $129. Sizes go up to XXXL, of course.

I want to talk about it. Or rather, do I even need to say anything? Just look at it. The vest is horrendous. It's ugly. I have no idea how this thing even came into existence. The materials look weird and uncomfortable (it's 78% Nylon, 22% Spandex). And the way the vest fits and drapes is just awful, too.

To be more specific, the neck and shoulder areas are poorly fitted and bunch up awkwardly, even when sitting completely still. The shape itself is unflattering. For some inexplicable reason, they made the vest absurdly wide in the shoulder/chest area without any tapering at the waist. This, too, makes it bunch up. The armholes are just round cutouts, instead of following the natural curves of the human body. It looks boxy and ill-fitting. The silhouette makes no sense whatsoever.

Even the product photos on their website are bad. Look at this! Notice, for example, how the shoulders poke out weirdly.

For comparison, take a look at the Patagonia vest (which, by the way, is cheaper at $119). It's slimmer in the shoulders, tapers properly, and actually looks good. The second image is similar, in terms of the materials.

I'd love to hear someone like ShiftFashionGroup do an in-depth break down of Linus' merch, since Linus is always so boastful about it. They actually work in the fashion industry and seem very knowledgeable. (I just want to add here that the video by Project Farm is just r-slurred. The guy doesn't know what he's talking about and is not qualified to review clothes. And, of course, Linus featured the video on the WAN show.)

Is anyone here familiar with garment manufacturing? Thoughts on the vest and LTTStore in general?

Thank God no one seems to be buying the vest, though. There are only five reviews on the website. Assuming 10% of buyers leave a review (and presumably the people who buy crap from LTT review at a higher percentage than this), that's at most only about 50 sales.

Man I almost hope linus starts trying to sell gaming seats and shit next just so I can contribute to this thread some by dunking on them. I mean universally I think they suck shit and are the equivalent of some $600 piece of shit from ikea but that might just be me. It seems like linus is trying to becoming the walmart for tech bro gear like when gamestop used to sell that ThinkGeek shit like the bag of holding. Same energy to me.

That vest looks like it was made specifically for that Nick guy, unzipped like in the second photo. For everyone else it looks awkward. And I just wonder if the fashion people have to have pear shaped 40 year old as their person to tailor to, no one else except when Linus wants something custom. Luke is apparently over 6'3" and always talks about needing a tall fit but they don't do it often.

I'm not a fashionista (I have a wardrobe 90% made up of identical shirts in different colors) but my view is the high neck on Linus' demonstration makes him look like a villain and the silver lines make the lousy fit far more obvious. The horizontal breast pocket is also ugly and should be on the inside of the vest.

The Patagonia vests not only fit better but the black version is extremely understated vs the Linus vest and those little strings on the zippers are a nice touch for people wearing gloves. Vancouver doesn't get particularly cold so Linus probably doesn't even understand what they're for and if anybody complained, he'd probably just berate you for not cutting up some shoelaces and adding it yourself.

Also what the fuck is going on with the color in that Linus screenshot? Left side of his shirt is almost pink while the right is a blueish-green. How the hell did they look at that and feel it was accurate? Edit: One of the models in WebFelching's post has the same weird as fuck two tone shirt so I guess that's the style.

Does LTT have a company wide policy that you have to wear the shittiest cheapest most poorly fitting pair of jeans possible not only in every video but even in the product advertisements?

Photo A) pants clearly are not his size, your jeans should not be bunching up around your too wide ass. This is also only possible when you're wearing cheap denim blend jeans (which I suspect to be part of the LTT wardrobe)
Photo B) Pants too big, too dark, are his feet crossed? His legs are making a weird angle under his hips. Also guilty of wearing cheap denim blends
Photo C) Returning offender from A. Pants too big. Too much fabric. I suspect this gentleman is portly with skinny legs (typical LTT style build) meaning he needs pants larger than his little chicken sticks can properly fill out
Photo D) Man get this old retarded faggot off the website please.
One would think that in a company with a triple digit employee roster, they could find at least 1 or 2 employees who aren't built like shit or dress like shit to model their clothing for them, or at they very least purchase 1-3 pairs of decent jeans and shirts that they could wear while modeling. Although most LTT viewers are the type I imagine to own an $80 Screwdriver (for taking apart PC fans) and a $6K computer (for watching teh LTTzor) while all the while wearing some $25 Target Denizen Brand jeans.
TLDR: the people who work at LTT are old, fat, and or dress like fags.
BONUS: these are just from the vest listing. I am sure the entire LTT store (thank you for sponsoring this post) is replete with similar or much graver examples.

Tech Upgrade videos have shown us how these people live. I think it’s less that they don’t know how to not wear clothes that don’t fit, than it is that they just can’t afford good clothes, and this is simply the best the thrift stores had to offer.

I think this ultimately lands as Linus' responsibility. If he just went out and purchased a job lot of wranglers or similar quality denim jean at least he could rely on his employees stealing them to show off in subsequent videos. Think of the hilarious goofs and gaffs! It makes me wish troonthony was still around so we could see him special request Linus to start stocking 60" waist trousers on hand.
