Linus Gabriel Sebastian & Linus Media Group / Linus Tech Tips - Narcissistic corporate shill YouTuber driving his media empire into the ground. KILL COUNT: 2

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Wouldn't blame him, Linus never used the damned shop. Dudes some kind of engineer and machinist, his career was literally wasting away at LTT. Not really sure why he pivoted to vehicles of all things, but maybe he's gonna try and leverage his engineering stuff to do his own custom work and parts. Don't give a shit about cars enough to actually watch though.

First video on the channel was only posted a week ago, so either he quit/canned just recently, or much less likely, Linus is loosening up on the rules about them having their own channels and shit.
Cars are a rabbit hole especially when you get into tuning but it's a huge time sink. If you can make it your job you can have a project car that exists for however many videos and make it all a business expense.

Plus the youtube audience for car channels is a lot less retarded than the RGB light up glass boxes crowd, probably has better ad revenue too.

Speaking of WAN show:

I only made it through half but Linus travelled somewhere to do videos, possibly at some tech plant like intel or Micron or something else. The first 20 minutes is Linus reacting to the Musk tard rage, and while they don't act political for it and just say this is the downside of having a billionaire flip out who can control a portion of government necessity (space rockets), they do tag onto Musk's tweet saying the tariffs will cause a recession.

Now Linus acts like technology is just so expensive, the tariffs are horrible, boo hoo. He then acts like the Switch 2 isn't selling (?!) and you can easily get one because no one can afford things because the economy is terrible, which may be true for the fags in Leafland but here in America it's going very well. He then mentions the store has seen a drop in sales (probably tied to just a downtrend in views too but shhhhh not able to be Trump's fault) and how all these manufacturers can't release anything because prices are in flux. This also ties into buy now, pay later and how LTT will never do that but Paypal offers it so you can consooooom.

About midway through at 1:24:30 it's brought up the Smash Champs had the official opening this week and the novelty scissors failed to cut the ribbon, which I wonder if it's bad luck like not breaking the champagne bottle on a ship.

He must have - last I was aware, LMG had a "You can't run your own media brand while working here" clause in their employment contracts.
Unless its changed since I stopped watching them regularly it was just forbidden to do personal videos on things LTT would cover and linus had to personally approve what they were doing. Taran did several videos on AutoHotkey and how he edits videos, Brandon started doing photography content right before he left, and I guess they don't count streaming because iirc plouffe used to assemble keyboard kits on twitch.

I do think that this is him getting a head start on building an audience before he's fully out the door though.

Oh shit, I'm retarded, I genuinely thought the cohost and that dude were the same guy.
All good, happens to the best of us. If the cohost there, Luke left, it'd be a huge fucking piece of news, because it'd probably kill floatplane entirely along the way, or he'd take it with him. The dude in this new channel is the poor engineering kid they hired to run their shop, bought all the machines and shit for, and then did a few months of "We can make custom cooling" before Linus lost interest and it was basically never used again.

iirc he dropped out of engineering school and never went back to get a degree.

Did this guy leave?

i hate this. im even interested in the subject matter but he does this gay linus half joke half sarcasm tone that drives me crazy. he's too old for it and its cringe inducing

Hope he succeeds, because when separate from Linus's influence over his writing and delivery he's actually a pretty good presenter.

I gotta agree with Ed here. I think his video is better than most of the stuff he's done on LTT. I was expecting it to be cringe garbage. I've worked on project cars and I like how this is written for the car enthusiast audience. Jayz2cents also does cars, so he wouldn't be the first tech/car person.

I know it's not great. It's still got the Linus-worker tinge to it, but I think he could make it work. I'm fucking rooting for him man! Get out of that shit shop and start a real car shop!

Fashion dude literally takes apart several pieces of merch clothing and reviews them. Puts the fabric into his durability testing lab, Which just shows that anyone can get a lab and use the results if they don't employ idiots.

In the end he says there are a few nice features but cost cutting all over (scores start at 23:40)
The shirts score badly, cheaply made, sewing mistakes and fabric that pills.
I do think he glazed linus a bit with the cargo pants, he makes fun of them the whole time but scores them 34/40
The task jacket also scored higher than it prolly should...

Also the pants have two layers of fabric over the knees... and behind the knee... hope you don't have to kneel a lot for your job cause you are going to have a wad of fabric crammed in the back of your knee, which makes me cringe and should be a war crime. Definitely made by people that don't actually work for a living.

I've never heard of this guy but I see a chynaman and go "oh he's canadian" and sure enough he confirms it. You are such a fucking disgrace, you leafs.

What's funny is Linus bitched about their American Apparel stuff for years yet it was probably better quality than this chyna crap.
