I stopped following both LTT and this thread a while ago, is tt just me or there were a lot of people leaving LTT?

Lately every time I remember its existence is because I find out that someone important is leaving.

Also I want to point out that it is striking how both the troon figure of the channel and the gay asían guy both left the company.

For a company as big as they are, the rate of departure itself isn't particularly alarming. What is notable is that its being concentrated more in the senior staff who made LTT what it is. There's a dozen different reasons that could explain what's going on, but all of them are some level of "Company not doing good". My bet is that they are either stagnating in a way that means these people have no growth opportunities in their career, IE the company isn't growing, they're fiscally stagnating to where the top talent can't get funding to do the things they want/need to do, or the company is actively either disinterested in retaining top talent or preferentially selecting for inexperienced, usually cheaper talent.

It doesn't explicitly point to active failure from Linus, but it does generally point to LTT not doing super well for itself. No surprise, ad rates are still crashing, and LTT view growth hasn't been exponential for a long time, just a slow linear climb. Barring sponsors going full retard on the marketing budget, which nobody except Nvidia could afford right now, their revenue is likely in a slump, quite possibly still actively declining.

I'd be a liar if I said I don't miss the days of the house set or when it was just Linus in stock room unboxing motherboards. (:_(

There was corporate restructuring which resulted in layoffs like a year and a half ago and since they've slowly been bleeding senior staff for one reason or another.

People who have been with Linus since early on, before they had to worry about corporate culture, back when it was okay to call someone fat or to come into the studio in your pajamas ,
Linus wasn't the only one with the dream, but he has long since lost that, maybe the people that took Linus's tiny hand in those dim fabulous early days werent just gears in a machine, they were likely friends too, nerds bound by shared interest, a passion for hardware and a desire to share that with the world, Now theyre just assorted senior staff with different expertise with a non Linus CEO pulling their leashes, no different than the Rileys and the Jakes, people enlisted by the company, not by a little man in sandals with that shared dream, Im willing to bet some of them worked with Linus for the expressed purpose of not having to work in the corporate environment that now jails them all
LMG is not the same beast it once was, neither in quality, integrity or loyalty to those who built it, I dont blame them for leaving, I would too

Dennis will land on his feet. If I'm remembering correctly, he had some sort of TV experience in Taiwan. Can knock LMG for all it's failings, but Dennis probably has a good resume and experience; on top of being a Chinaman. His $5,000 upgrade is still my favorite video, Live Laugh Liao you crazy diamond.

The part of Linus's stairs that is in the back of his skull after he smashed it falling.
Those house hiding videos were funny. Linus will always have a scratch on his bedroom floor to remind him of Dennis.

Linus pumped out a super shilly Switch 2 review where doesnt mention any of the known flaws (Switch 1 games being upscaled from 720p to 1080p in handheld mode and looking blurry, first party switch games like Pikmin 3 being unplayable, fake hdr, same joycon drift issues, and dock scratching the screen) and defends Nintendo's $80 as the only way for lil old Nintendo to make a profit ignoring that Nintendo made as much money during the Switch 1 as they did during every other console gen combined despite the fact that according to raw inflation they should have been loosing money on $60 games if inflation was the only issue.

lol leaving now, Andy feels like he was a legit CCP spy, not in the Fang Fang sense but he was put there to be a translator when Linus got cheap Chyna shit and has an overbearing wife (his home upgrade showed his in laws lived with him and his wife basically made him sleep in the basement after the baby was born), and he’s a “photographer”
