it's not nearly as bad as they portray it to be. they framed it in a way to look much worse than it is for the sake of the video and engagement (big surprise). that being said, does it really surprise you that Linus was irresponsible? He's done so many dangerous things over the years in his videos that I'm surprised he hasn't had some kind of work place injury that he'd be sued for.

Huh. So per the Kino Casino, Linus was proposed to be Freddy Wong's opponent in Creator Clash 3 but declined. Wonder if he:
1. Saw the writing on the wall for the event.
2. Was too lazy/pussy to try boxing.
Or most likely.
3. Figured he'd lose money by taking time away from sloptent farming.

Is this meant to be his girlly girl voice? He just sounds like a lispy queer.

tl;dr on the video: he's a hamfisted idiot.
That's what most of them end up doing.

Also, it's not just one bad angle in the video.

So not only can this retard not diagnose a fucking basic desktop computer from a build, manages to do this somehow when reinstalling or removing the CPU for a 2nd time? And for some reason instead of doing this on a proper desk or counter top like a normal human being, did it underneath the desk?

It keeps getting dumber. Now after his hamfisted self completely fucks the CPU socket, they're not sure what motherboard to buy... as if it's the fault of the fucking motherboard? Even at the beginning of the video when it just wasn't working properly, they removed the CPU and hit the socket with some canned air and had managed to get shit in the socket which still isn't gigabyte's fault.

Complains about sending it back to gigabyte for repairs but that's more downtime... it's already 5 fucking months to build one workstation? Bitches about buying another $700 motherboard... open box, with a ripped box I might add. So don't buy a fucking $700 open box motherboard? Why did they do this? because of some complaint about their wifi slowing down their capture card?

"This isn't the first time I've ever bent any pins, at least not that badly" I've never done that in my life. "my expertise started with tinkering and breaking things and I imagine that's true for a lot of enthusiasts out there" tinkering yes, regularly breaking shit? No.

Now they have their revenue hidden, but we can still see there's a little over 500 paid members, probably mostly at the $1.50/month tier. But we can note how much that's fallen off during this moron's duration of not actually doing anything for 5 months because of one fucking motherboard that they themselves destroyed. I know this creature was incompetent when he was on LTT, but holy shit what was Linus actually putting up with if building one fucking computer takes 5 months and 2 motherboards?

I've gotten amazing stable overclocks for both CPU and RAM on boards that MSRPed at $50. If I'm buying a board that costs that much, it'd best be made of solid gold and give me a fucking blowie before I install it in the system.
It's $450 US, but still ridiculous and unnecessary for whatever he thinks he's doing especially with the primary concern being wifi slowing down his capture card? https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X870E-AORUS-MASTER
And the one he wound up with paying $700 canadian for an open and ripped box is still only $480 USD

But still unnecessary and shouldn't have taken him 5 fucking months.

Especially when the excuse is as bullshit as wifi somehow affecting a capture card. If he's going to be leaning so heavily on capture cards for whatever he's gonna be doing, the actual answer isn't fret over ghost performance issues like wifi, and just accept that peak performance comes from the capture card being its own dedicated PC. No resource fighting, no performance issues, and even guarantees that your recording or stream won't completely eat shit if the application on the main machine dies hard enough to take the whole rig with it.

And its also not that expensive to do, the capture rig can be a 5 year old second hand parts build. You could make that for the price he paid for just the mobo, fucking retarded. I think he got used to Linus's excessive budgets on everything and tried to do the same, and could not back it up in the slightest.

But still unnecessary and shouldn't have taken him 5 fucking months.
What was he even doing those five months anyway. Obviously not fixing the damned machine, a given, but like, he's gotta do more than sit on a chair for eight hours staring at bent pins and calling it a workday, right?

Probably? Does that lardass look like they ever actually do any work? And couldn't figure out how to put a workstation together in 5 fucking months? He started working at LTT in 2017, I can only assume because he convinced someone there he was a linux guy and they didn't have anyone who knew shit about it. If we're generous since he also claims he played sega genesis, let's assume he's... 38. Again, being generous. That's over 7 years of fucking about at LTT doing practically nothing and getting paid for it. I've never heard this person mention their background either other than "enthusiast" which doesn't amount to shit. Maybe they had some bullshit job at NCIX that shut down in 2017?

If we assume they worked at NCIX prior to LTT, they clearly weren't actually doing anything particularly technical. So yeah, it's entirely possible they collected welfare for a few months after setting up their patreon and kofi, and the only damned reason he even posted this video is his patreon took another hit and he couldn't afford to stuff his face, was afraid he might not be able to pay rent, or something similar. Probably mooched off his parents quite a bit too to just have that unexplained 5 month gap building 1 singular PC and couldn't even turn that into any real content.

Quintuply so when 100' of Cat6, a pack of zip ties and like 20 damage-free cable organizers are under $50 (even moreso if you get the Command strips on their own and just 3D print your own cable organizers for the walls). Leave it to Linus and his nard-garglers to overcomplicate and overprice cheap, simple fixes.

Unfortuantely, POST code displays are restricted by companies to high end motherboards.

While I do agree cheap motherboards have come long way ever since 2005, I would like high end features like 5 Gigabit ethernet, properly made audio jacks (not interested in gaming, audiophile crap, but I dont like hissing, buzzing or coilwhine). I have a +1000$ laptop from Lenovo with poor audio design. It hisses when you connect a display or charge.

But indeed 700 dollars on a motherboard is EXCESSIVE.
