Let me tell you guys about when I first realized how defensive and "not chill" many anime fans get over any criticism of lolicon.
So back in 2018 or 19, when ps4 still had communities, I was part of a anime wallpaper community. One day someone made the background a drawing of little girls in bikinis at a beach, and they were young girls they didn't do the "5,000 yr old" defense, they flat out said it.
So I say suggested a change cause I thought it was a bit strange to have that as a background.

One of the first replies was something like "we're all degenerates in some sort of way". (which just tells you these people think being porn addict degenerate is some sort of badge of honor)
So I responded sorta jokingly saying "there's a fine line between standard degeneracy and criminal behavior." And boy did that set them off, because immediately a bunch of people started dog piling me and before I could really defend myself I got banned.

I wanna make note that I was invited into this community since it started, so I didn't just join there just to complain. I wasn't a "tourist", but now I'm kicked out because I slightly blasphemed loli.

Lolicons are particularly bad about it, but I'd argue that it's not so much a "lolicon" thing as it is a "degenerate" thing.

Most hypersexualized communities do that. They know what they're doing is weird, they know what they're doing is wrong, but they convinced themselves they're fine just because they gathered enough people to build an echo chamber that insulates them from the weird looks they get from the general public. So anyone who shows up and disrupts that immediately gets a visceral reaction from them.

Some individual lolicons might be "chill" and readily admit the shit they're into is depraved and wrong. But the moment degenerates form a community, all chill goes out of the window.
