"Mad at the Internet" - a/k/a My Psychotherapy Sessions

I wanted to comment again about the Ethan Ralph sobriety thing. Since I mentioned how he could actually stay sober this time a couple weeks back when he went in to rehab. Because I do have experience with addiction, sobriety, helping other people to get sober.

Looking at what he has gone back to immediately after returning from rehab. Yeah. He is going to relapse. As an addict, I really do want to see people get out of their addiction, am willing to help people with it with people in real life. And with Ralph it's no different. I want to see him get sober. Actually change, become less selfish, self-centered, and resentful. He isn't there yet, and it's obvious.

Hopefully he somehow gets beaten down enough while he is still alive to actually realize he needs to change EVERYTHING. That the drinking and drug use isn't the root of the problem, that he is the root of the problem. Sadly he is probably going to die pretty soon like null said. Genuinely hope he proves me wrong on this.
While I can appreciate your sentiment here, the drugs and alcohol have not made Ralph the way he is. Ralph was born that way. He will always be that way. Dead sober Ralph would be no less belligerent, selfish, spiteful, low IQ, or needlessly cruel than he is when on drugs.

Stopping drugs and alcohol will fix nothing in Ralph's life. His addictions are the least of his problems.

I enjoy bojack for the most part and despise being the le media literacy guy but i find it almost inconceivable anyone could actually watch the show and in any way end up thinking bojack is anything other than one of worst pieces of shit possible. The crux of the entire story is that even without all his vices and despite the little progress bojack gets to being better he at his fundamental core is a broken horrible person who will destroy every thing around him. Even with the flaws that come with that format of have the serious drama beginning and ending of every season sandwiching a season wacky comedy hijinks it always clear in that bojack is irredeemable and the show is more about understand him than sympathizing with him.
Show still has alot of bullshit especially in the later seasons like Aaron Paul being asexual for some fucking reason and basically everything surrounding Diana and it especially has trouble balancing its fun comedy with its dark depressing drama, I still like it since so much of the comedy is just fun wordplay but with how people describe the show I understand why people don't even know it's a comedy at all.

I for one vote for permanently replacing the Reddit segment with a Lipstick Alley segment. Josh just randomly picks a thread and we always get better content than when he reads some fake rage bait story.
Ya. And its also nice to see there are still some active old school independent forums out there. Everything on reddit is fake and gay.

Sarkeesian being passed over by USAID is both funny and also somewhat suspect given her profile. When even bums ranting on street corners were getting thrown a few thousand dollars to add a leftist slant to their schizophrenic ravings, it seems implausible that she was overlooked. Back channels maybe?
Money went to the outer party through USAID, she will have some more direct funding mechanism revealed later, I expect.

I want to know who was funding Kimberle Crenshaw and Bell Hooks. They basically started the intersectionality stuff back in the 80s but it was totally on ice until like the 2014 era. I remember running an intersectionality argument on my professors about 10 years before that because I could see how it easily trumped and subsumed all the other leftist arguments if used in a competent way. I was really flummoxed at the time as to why they didn't use their best argument more, but I think now they were just holding it back.

> Dante's Peak,

Around here, it's "Dainty's Peak", buddy.

That doesn't make him unique among addicts at all, in fact it's a very common archetype. Sobriety is really just his only shot at working on those core issues, and it's kind of a moonshot, all treatment plans of antisocial behavior have low success rates whether it's conversion therapy or rehab, it's just the prospect of getting a generative person out of a person actively degenerating society is very valuable.
> Gives up caffeine, except to promote alertness and wakefulness while driving.
> Drives continuously back and forth across America. More road miles that Optimus Prime with Neal Cassaday behind the wheel.

A side-effect of listening to MATI without video is that parts of it are randomly instrumental, or consist of a collage of voices absent strong context. Taking away the images transforms the podcast into the kind highbrow art installation that Fraser and Niles might enjoy.
Its pretty clear (to me) it was astroturfed and given money through shell NGOs, because even the people who slavishly defended her never donated to her, her engagement and quality were exactly what you'd expect for content just produced for a pretext. The sus/weird part to me is $6. How do you even cut a government check that low?

I've got a TV tuner and an antenna, so I can record local broadcast TV. I can get a few channels from DC, but mostly just Baltimore stuff.

I wish I could get Philly stuff because I hear Philly local TV is fucking hilarious, but gay ass Wilmington, Delaware (Delaware being the worst, most useless state) is in the way.

Anyway, I recorded this late night tv commercial last night. It's Chris Hansen (yes, that Chris Hansen) hawking a buyer's guide on boner pills.

I've had these kinds of issues before. People who have never though about it before think all these business listings are put up directly by the business and not just random companies that scrape the internet.
Where I live opening hours for smaller businesses are mostly a suggestion. Even Walgreens and the DMV sort of randomly close at times due to 'staffing'.

They are scraped in absence of the business being smart and updating the place where like 60-90% of new customers will get their directions to their business, or a guide updating it.
But still how would the rating on a location where they don't even care enough to update the times for potential new customers to know, be objectionable?
