hmblzayy has had a very near miss in which a truck towing a trailer had to swerve off the road to avoid splattering him. He then proceeded to get mad and chimp out at the truck as it vanished into the distance

I walk on roads all the time, you have to be more considerate when you do it but it's not bad at all. Walk facing oncoming traffic, make sure drivers can see you, keep to the side of the road, keep your eyes up and not on your dang phone. Easy!
In fact many of the roads without sidewalks have either an alternative pedestrian only footpath, or a very generous margin on the side of the road. I've been on some where I could probably lay down lerpendicular between the margin line and the edge of the road and still have room.

Sidewalks are much nicer, but they are not a requirement to walk. Your feet are actually designed to be able to safey travel on almost any terrain.

He was almost dead center in a road lane, and the driver tried and failed to get around him in the margin, where he should have been instead. she should have also tried using her brakes.
