Star Model B is a pretty neat pistol - just close enough to a 1911 to mess with people without actually being another 1911. and the 870 is a classic shotgun design, a bit annoying to work on but hopefully that one is pre-2007.

If your planning on a not larp scenario where your mostly just hunting its great. You can upgrade to a maverick88 12 guage (mossberg clone but slightly shittier but still made by mossberg and considered very reliable) for like 100 or under used, 200-300 new if your intrested (I would feel better having a 12 guage if I had to shoot someone over a 20 guage)

The larp about having giant roaming bands of cannibal rapists and U.N. corn syrup death squads I always see boomers preparing for is kind of retarded and just having a couple hunting guns is important. If the country breaks down its probably going to be more akin to a worse long term great depression rationing hyperinflation scenario where your more likely to encounter maybe small groups of people or indviduals looking for shit to steal and rip copper for necessities than anything with probably more tweakers cracked out to escape their awful lives.

Unless you live in or semi close to (maybe a two hour drive) a large city since most shitskins from countries where cannibalism and sensless murder is considered a rich and vibrant culture are now flooding in at unprecedented numbers and will probably form large ethnic violent gangs quickly, mexicans are actually not that much of a problem because I think most of them will leave when things get bad considering they have a land border and theres no more free shit to give out since 90+% of them are just economically motivated and hate the country. But every imported brown person seperated by a sea would probably immediately devolve into even worse violence and depravity than they commit now very quickly and considering they have no land bordered homeland, would be missing everyday essentials, hate white people, are naturally violent, and their home countries like haiti are already considered the worst on the planet

Buffer tube stocks are the weakest part of the AR-15 design, and the use of them on anything but an AR-15 makes you a fuckin' retard. USE A FOLDING STOCK, NONE OF THE COLLAPSIBLE BUFFER TUBE STOCKS ARE GOOD, EVEN THE "GUCCI" ONES.

Counterpoint: most bufferless AR stocks suck. Most of the models I see are A) Skeletonized, hurt the balance of the gun and have questionable locking/unlocking mechanisms B) Attempt to copy the ACR/SCAR stock, retaining their issues and adding questionable build quality. As buffer tube-less designs become popular hopefully they'll get as much R&D as buffer tube stocks had.

The only buffer tube setup I hate is the Sig folding dummy buffer tube on the XM5:

All the added complexity and weight so they can slap on one of the worst Magpul stocks. IIRC Sig added it to meet some retarded Army oal requirement for the contract.

If he's tight on funds a dagger is a better cost option. Also if he's hitting a sale beats used Glock prices and could even pre pimp with slides serrated and rmr cut threaded barrels etc.

@Heavy Galaxy you can get used glocks for cheap. Even the really popular ones like the G48

Glock Knives are still pretty easy to get and under $50, seems like a pretty good all around choice for an inexpensive field knife.

Plus if you get a Steyr Aug for some reason you can use it as a bayonet, too.

Actually I own two of them got as gifts being a "gun guy who camps" tbh tbh bang for buck (forgive the pun) is great. I do beat the shit out of them and haven't given up yet.

Are their better? Absolutely, and you'll be paying way more.

Ugh I never got around to finishing that Aug shits a frustrating build. Thanks for reminding me tho lol.
 
What are your guys thoughts on a pocket 380 with a thumb safety I have a bersa CC but it's an older model and to be honest it's kinda shit I was thinking about getting a new one (not the cc model but the normal thunder) hoping the reliability and quality improved
