Long story short: no.

Many, if not all, of the e beggars you see begging for every little thing month to month like Mem are actually getting a lot more help from family, government welfare, etc than they claim. They beg either because they can’t budget to save their lives, have one or more addictions, or simply feel entitled to others money just because. Mem herself has been exposed in the past as getting money from her father for important expenses that she instead blows on weed.

Mem has developed such a victim complex on top of being a narcissist, however, that she does not see a reason to improve her situation in a meaningful way. Additionally, larping as a mutual aid activist feeds into a validation that she has power over others. She has also been exposed by former allies as running an extortion ring where if they don’t give her money or boosts to a satisfactory degree, that she will skim their share or trash their reputations by calling them problematic or dangerous. You can see a recent example of this a couple pages back with the suddenly toxic donor that had given her thousands.

So besides that she is in a cycle from her squandering what help she does get out of entitlement, gluttony, and spite, there is also a power play going on. The “notice I am a human with needs” or “it’s unfair that I need to ask to help,” every other similar lecture? All a power play. She’s preying on people’s kindness under the guise of charity. Unfortunately for Mem, she’s been in the scene for so long that her old tactics are no longer potent. This was a long time coming.

So that the grift can continue, I'd guess. If the threat is becoming homeless or DEATH, and help doesn't come, people would get suspicious when you carry on as normal after missing that goal with no proof of homelessness/no reasonable explanation for continuing to have consistent access to power, WiFi, etc. Obviously to a normal person with more than a ten second memory, having a guardian angel always show up in the nick of time is more suspicious.

I'm in favor of the payday concept just to see the utter malding that will happen when the amount Mem raises (no matter if it's one, ten, or a thousand dollars) is just Not Enough.

Being saved at the very last minute or having/appearing to have big donors can greatly increase a person’s power in the “mutual aid” world.

Other scammers see a flow of money, and they want their cut of that money too. These “mutual aid” groups are filled with infighting and trying to get to certain people they think are big whales. It’s why they always fall apart in the end.

Basically, it makes it seem as though she can always talk her way into money to other scammers. This is the so-called “mutual aid organizing” she talks about, it’s how she gained a lot of allies before. The “donors” throwing away their money get off on the idea that they singlehandedly SAVED A LIFE!!!!/!/!/!!! from the evil bills that return to threaten her life every month.

This is what I'm here for! So much insanity in those posts. My favorite points:

1. How is she an insurance payout to covid deniers? Does she have life insurance and are her parents the beneficiaries? Otherwise this makes no sense. The only thing people could inherit from her is debt.

2. The idea that having to fill out some paperwork to get a few WEEKS extension for a bill that should have been paid so long ago is absolutely hilarious. While Mem and her supporters constantly makes insane statements, this was fresh enough to make me laugh. Don't get me wrong, bureaucracy can be a nightmare, but they don't even list the required paperwork. This kind of makes me think that they either never bothered to look it up, or they waited until it was too late to get everything together. Is Mem even officially disabled?
If not, it kind of seems like she's not even trying. Even Polissa managed to get that status for a semi made up diagnosis. It baffles me, because Mem could grift so much better, if she wouldn't spend all her time on Twitter. Even if she has more sources of money than she claims. I'll take bets on when she'll realize that this is a dried up well.
