Mike David / Red Bar Radio / Jules Felker David - "Where we at with Red Bar?"

Nah, the archive isn't that big. I've been making my way through downloading it all. I've downloaded all videos from season 15 to now at their highest quality (older ones are 720p, newer 1080p). I'm going to download the audio files for each episode too (Only done season 19 currently). It just is going to start getting messy downloading the older stuff because it starts to lose its season formatting.

This is the total size of what I've downloaded so far:

This is all of season 18 (All 1080p) for actual storage size of a whole HD season:

If Mike sees this he is definitely never coming back

the bitrate must be fucking terrible then, 5 hrs of 1080p should be way more than 5GB, especially because its output is supposedly 1080p60fps.

i know the way earlier stuff is audio only, but we're now looking at 4TB for the full archive. which while high, is a lot better. thats about $100 worth of storage. You can usually find great deals on hard drives this month too. especially cyber monday.

You're acting as if he uploads the raw files to his site. Obviously they're encoded. The quality is great btw.

It's weird to see a lolcow thread for a guy I'd been a fan of for years. He always made some solid music too which he's autstically protective over (which is a shame because it can actually be really good). You can only find that shit if you really look for it. The Die EP was the only full length thing he did other than GRAYS (Kill All The Gays), Weekend Off, Coke and Summer Gun Jam. A song called "Women" which only a sample can be found too.

I stopped listening right around 2016 too when it felt like he'd reached his peak as a solo act and was slowly just turning into him listening to bad music and saying it's good.

ALLEGEDLY, the Wreckless feud -or at least the "hacking"- was staged in order to allow Wreckless' Brian Berris to retire and allow Mike to establish himself as a "threat" in the new phase of his career. But the tl;dr of it is this corny faggot is who Mike D is at his core and what he thought was funny before blatantly O&A plagiarism was the go-to for anyone trying to gtet a foothold in niche broadcasting.
This happened right around the time Brian Berris had a kid and as he was the guy who ran all the Wreckless Media stuff, when he decided to call it quits the entire site shut down because he was doing it all by himself. He was always a part-time web designer to the point he advertised his web design company on the WMR site IIRC.

It's a shame really I like to listen to redbar during work. But between the two month break when he moved and now the I think 4 months since he last made a podcast I have started to hate him. I used to pay for the scars club but when he came back from moving there wasnt anything. Bud your providing a service the least you could do is show that you give a percent of a fuck about your fans without posting cringey thing like one two three and four then post huge fucking insane comeback 2 months ago say what you will about the minor cows you milk but most of them dont up and abandon their fans and keep charging their credit card for 0 new content.

How tall is Mike David?

Picture is from this old Redbar blogspot that someone posted in a completely unrelated thread. Seemed worth sharing here for a glimpse at old Redbar. I don't really think there was anything particularly interesting in here but I love internet time capsules. Seems there used to be a lot of live stuff going on, I'm assuming at the Redbar comedy club.

It's pretty sad to me how the show has basically become another react/drama podcast. I haven't regularly listened to Red Bar in about 10 years, but I personally think the solo Mike shows lack so much energy. When the show was a bunch of younger comedians and Mike in his late 20s just riffing and goofing around, it was simply a lot more fun to listen to. I stopped listening about a year after the Kyle Lane takeover as Mike's constantly negative attitude just made the shows more of a slog than an enjoyable listen.

I'd honestly love if someone could upload a complete archive of 2007-2010ish because I know that Mike's wiped out a fair bit of those episodes from the Barmy/Archive or whatever it's called now. These were (in my opinion) the golden years of Red Bar and I listened to it obsessively, bought the merch, etc. I was also in high school for most of that time, so who the fuck knows how its aged. If anyone has any questions about the show's timeline around then, co-hosts, Kyle, Comedy Club shit, Mike's ex and Dean, I have a bunch of knowledge of it.

Redbar posted this on Instagram about a week ago; it looks like, if he's not lying, the list of things to do for Season 20 seems to be coming along quicker than expected - however with the way things have been going, I still wouldn't put it past Mike to delay for another three to six months (and still charge Scarsclub members for it)

Also, unless there is something I don't know which is possible, I'm not aware of all the "Redbar lore" why is Vic Berger commenting on his stuff? The last time I checked, Vic Berger was attempting/getting Gavin McInnes banned from everywhere, sperging at people like him along the way (Gavin who, at least for a short time, was friends with Mike IIRC) Not saying they should or would be enemies, but it seems strange that he's being friendly to Mike at all.

Mike has tossed light barbs at Gavin and the Proud Boys in the past and those people hold grudges. It wouldn't surprise me if Vic just thought Mike's teasing equated him to be a Gavin Destroyer or some shit based on the Uhuru Crew being bootyblasted so hard.

Mike has mentioned Vic Berger a few times on the show and said that he liked his edits and thought that they were funny. He did first hear of him because of the Gavin stuff. He also added that he liked Sam Hyde as well and thought of them as linked for both being online alt comedy creators and lamented that they hated each other because of politics. He apparently talks to both of them and said that he wanted them to work together. He suggested it to Sam Hyde and Sam said he would never do it.

I got into Redbar's stuff last year, and found it refreshing there was someone saying what a lot of folk were thinking about Rogan and his gang of coattail riders. But I quickly started to hate his obnoxious gatoresque soundboard, clapping at fucking anything and his wife's input being somehow less essential than Hila Klein.

While I did initially enjoy him taking pot shots at the usual grifter podcast parasites, he's not exactly doing it as a point of critique, is he? Say what you want about 2010 Redbar radio, but for someone new to it, it's kind of embarrassing how he barely hides his jealously of those he mocks.

His coverage of H3H3 and HeyBigMike is some of the funniest Redbar material.

Mike is one of the funniest people and a great showman. It's a thin line with the ego: sometimes it fuels an epic rant that makes you want to clip it and share with friends; other times he gets obsessed with the mildest criticism in the chat and ruins the show with paranoid vitriolics, leaving one not wanting to watch for a month. On the whole, his ego and negative attitude toward his fans is a massive detriment. Yes, it's part of "the bit" - but combined with the overall negativity of the show, it becomes toxic.

Mike is best when he maintains a gleeful negativity, where everything is very meta - meaning he's making fun of the world while subtly making fun of himself. When he lapses into full-on paranoid egomaniac mode Redbar goes from genius to completely unwatchable.

been listing to the 2007 stuff. its crazy how different Redbar with friends is. he is basically a completely different person before the club got pulled out from under him, plus he's such a contradictory motherfucker its literally an entirely different guy. he doesn't really act so crazy as he does in the 2010s. constantly letting callers and comedians do their bits. he says he hated music and karaoke. but you can see a lot of the traits of later mike, when he gets the opportunity he will unleash on a comedian.

So does anyone have pre-2007 episodes? those are apparently the gold standard for content, prank calls every show, racism+misogyny jokes out the ass.

Mike was so young back then too its cool to see how he evolves, you can tell he can't hide his jealousy worth a fuck, but he's goddamn amazing at breaking things down.

like others have said he's a great singer, honestly wish we could just upload his songs somewhere, they're great.
