People always like to quote these findings, but it's largely based upon a misrepresentation of the science. The truth is that the relative vs absolute risk for older fathers is still very low, and only becomes statistically significant for men over the age of 45. In no way is this comparable to the affect that aging has on female fertility.

There are other things that cause genetic mutations, such as radiation.
