The leaker took screenshots from the public terminal, used an application that turns the screenshots into a PDF file by adjusting for threshold, distortion, turns the file to black and white and so on.

Either this - or the leaker took screenshots, with his/her phone, and the monitor had one of those cheap privacy screens, that probably wasn't properly applied. Leaker would turn up brightness on the images to combat the dimness due to the screen.

Print and scan to a pdf at a local kinkos or their place of work in order to help remove any data that could be used to track them down.

Agreed. Should that horrible day of revelation truly come to pass, woe be to Nick and Kayla Rekeita. The fury that will come for them, justly so, is almost unimaginable. I hope it never goes there but I'm sobered by this being the first time it's entered genuine plausibility for me.
