Once Valak was gone, the darkness all around Equestria disappeared and the sun was shining bright once again.

That's when everypony saw that the terror was all over. They looked around for Neo and didn't see him at first. Then the ponies saw Neo lying on the ground ahead of them and he appeared to be lifeless. Twilight and her friends approached him and tried to wake him up, but he didn't move. Then Twilight noticed that his wrists were bleeding and he apparently had slit his wrists while he had been surrounded by the darkness that nearly devoured him.

Twilight remembered Neo telling her that he was immortal, but he can be die permanently if he dies by his own hands. And from this, this was clear that Neo had died by his own hands. They had to face the fact that Neo was dead now and was gone forever.

I was actually worried for a moment. But then, our hero is resurrected by Jesus himself:

No AFAIK he just was tired of being cyberbullied so he blew up all his social media accounts. I think he made a Facebook post about it

I know that's a meme, but to answer it seriously it's hard to tell. He's talked to me in the past , and he always seemed so excited to finish his fanfics.

Now he's gone completely radio dark, it'd be fascinating to know what he's doing with his free time. He doesn't seem like a guy that has much of a social life, but I think we would find out about it if he offed himself, as he does seem to have a small group who follow him around online.

Perhaps he took the show on the road to bronycon.
 
He was also being rejected by some of his fellow bronies. There was mention of some drama in a facebook group. So I think even they thought he was too autistic for them.
