Not to mention virtually everyone on every social media platform and gaming forum celebrating their demise.
I mean, that's what Dan Olson's excuse was.
Is this even a unprecedented event? That a popular site simply goes down in flames and is all but gone within 24 hours of an accusation leveled at its owner?
/v/ is a little different. I've been hanging out there for several months, and I will tell you that there was a lot of discourse and discontentment with the mods. Legitimate threads were/are being deleted with impunity, and ESPECIALLY threads critical of NeoGAF were deleted. It was/is speculated that NeoGAF mods have power over /v/, even today./v/ needs to go down next. It is the second faggiest shithole next to NeoFAG.

You wanna know how bad it got right now, Wolfenstein thread's are now being deleted with no mercy now./v/ is a little different. I can't find it on the 4chan archive sites, but I quipped once that /v/ at least had the advantage of "not getting banned for having the wrong opinion" but someone replied that it would probably be different in a year or two due to the slow but increasingly hostile actions of mods. After tonight, that shift will probably be accelerated.

To be fair there are a lot of dumb conspiracy theories about the 4chan hotpockets, and chans by nature are a lot less moderated than forums.
