He doesn't thunk Gina Carano has much of a case against Disney for termination or defamation. We all know what his predictive abilities are, though.
To be fair, I never thought she had much of a case to begin with. She’s arguing wrongful termination and different standards between her and her male costars, but neither really apply.
We never saw her contract, but I know what actor contracts look like and they usually have termination clauses in them, for situations like hers.
Then there’s the different standards between her and Pablo Pascal. While Pascal is a left wing nut, which is in Disney’s favor, this argument ignores one major difference. Pablo Pascal is
the star of the show, Gina Carrano played a minor character who was in less than half of the total episodes of the season. To imply she was on equal footing as he was is laughable, and I guarantee Pascal had a significantly better contract than she did just simply by magnitude. He was a series star. She was just a series regular.
I fully believe the case is just there so Musk can get dirt in Disney to come to light during discovery. I don’t think he honestly thinks she can win.
All that said, Nick doesn’t understand the case and thought it was about defamation, which it wasn’t. Showing that once again he doesn’t understand defamation, so much so that he doesn’t understand when a case isn’t even about it
