I talked it over with @Glaive and we decided that a new thread isn't really called for at the moment, due to there being little chance of new Nick content until his legal proceedings start.

Speaking of, has there been any update on when we can expect these to start?

No, but I believe it will update to this document when the next event occurs. So far as I know, Nick still awaits a preliminary hearing. They're probably in no real rush for this, as Nick is not going anywhere any time soon.

I find it amusing that the Assistant DA who's prosecuting his case is named Amber.

I wonder if Nick had any warning he was about to be arrested, or if there was just a knock at his door and that was it.

Now seems like a good time to point out that Nick's psych evaluation mentions he had some type of sexual experience with a female cousin when he was thirteen. We don't know how old she was, but this points to an unhealthy and fucked-up dynamic in Nick's family that extends beyond just him.
Late, but I fucking called it.
Nick Bate's family is the band of inbred hillbillies in that X-Files Episode "Home".
Or maybe the family in The Hills Have Eyes.

When will the trials for Sick Nick be held? Also, is there anyone going to record it as well for us to see?

Your first question was answered literally 4 posts above yours.

We can look forward to dates and procedures after he gets a lawyer. It's not too likely that b-family will pony up for an attorney and the public defenders are probably playing dodgeball with his case.

The current low quality of posting in this thread is untenable, though, so I'm going to try to improve things by tightening up the rules a bit now that the big spergwave/celebration of Nick's arrest has subsided. Prison rape jokes will be deleted from here on out, as they are beyond stale. Also, Nick is impossible to A-Log, but if your post is nothing but "fuk Nik I hope he die in a fire" it will still be deleted- not for A-Logging but for being a shitpost that adds nothing to the conversation. If you positively must make tired, unfunny jokes that have been made dozens of times before, might I direct you to: https://forum.encyclopediadramatica.se/

Honestly it's not unreasonable to just lock this thread until we get more information on Nick's sentencing. There hasn't been any new content in a while. I stopped following this thread actively because since there isn't much to say, it's become the same tired shit over and over.

Yeah pretty much this; the authorities aren't gonna disclose any info on Sick Nick until sentencing, and Nick himself can't produce content anymore, so this thread lives on the anecdotes of those who were close to him now that prison rape jokes are banned.

And about time that shit was banned too.

But I wouldn't want to see potential old acquaintances discouraged from posting by the lack of a thread to do it. I think it's worth putting up with some low quality posts to have the thread open if anyone else does want to show up, or any of the people we have remember something they haven't posted yet.

Nick bate getting force-fed raisins compressed into stale bars is out of the question?

If you mean Nutraloaf, it'll probably happen when he can't obey rules because of his insanity. I don't know if they actually use Nutraloaf as such, but it certainly seems like the kind of place that would feed that or something like that to people in the hole.

Would moderating the thread be an option as in "posts don't appear until approved"? Don't know if that's something that the board or admins can do. Say Maddi or someone find the thread and makes a post, it appears after approval or someone asks a good question about trial possibilities and that appears but the nineteen billionth "i hope nick dies in a fire" gets filtered into the ether.

That and I can write up a FAQ or something for the first post. "When's the trial", "what're the charges", etc.

Nick Bate 2: The FAQening

Read this before asking questions that have been answered in the thread in the past:

Q: Who is Nick Bate?
A: A child molester who loves shit and is now in jail. Read his ED page, the old thread, and the FAQ from the old thread.

Q: When was he arrested?
Apr 29th, 2015. Here is a news story.

Q: Where is he being held?
Lancaster County Prison, likely separated from the general population due to his status as a child molester. His prison ID is 15-1788. He can be searched on the Lancaster County Prison inmate lookup page.

Q: What're the charges?
A:
J4Jdpkw.png

all committed against Amber when she was 9 or 10.

Q: When is his trial?
A: Unknown yet. His docket is here and will be possibly updated when the date is set. According to @Saul Goodman who went to the trial location on the date listed, that date was a placeholder and his actual hearing is yet unknown. The court is awaiting the appointment of a public defender.

UPDATE 5/15: The docket now shows a preliminary hearing date of 6/16/2015 at 2pm.

@AnOminous added the following insight on what to expect and a tip for following along with any updates:
Cool. Note that this might be waived anyway and never actually happen. Of course, this is a serious enough crime that counsel might actually be inclined to use the preliminary hearing to force the Commonwealth to put up some of its case up front. There's nothing to lose by that except time.

I'd still think the hearing might solely consist of waiving the formalities and moving ahead to trial.

While this is before a Magistrate Judge, the actual case will be before the Court of Common Pleas for Lancaster County. It will probably be assigned a new docket number with the new court.

You'll still search the same website to find it when it shows up there, but on the "Docket Sheets" pulldown, you'll pick Common Pleas Courts instead of Magisterial District Courts. I think this will be the case even if the case immediately pleads out because there will still be things like sentencing to deal with and a magistrate can't do that except for petty offenses.

Q: Was bail set?
A: Yes, at $150,000. He was not able to pay, so he is currently being held awaiting trial at the aforementioned Lancaster County Prison.

Q: What kind of time is he looking at?
A: We won't know until the verdict and sentencing, but most lawfags in the thread speculate that it will be dependent on numerous factors, such as a plea deal and how determined the prosecutor is to put him away. To quote @AnOminous

This statute also has special sentencing provisions.

I believe I neglected to note this the first time a couple weeks ago that this came up. The ordinary sentence for a first degree felony is 20 years. In any event, the person who just posted a couple posts up was right about the 40 year thing.

The other three are third degree felonies, with sentence of up to 7 years. So in theory, if you served these consecutively, they could add up to 61 years.

As pointed out, though, they're likely to be served concurrently.

The most favorable likely plea would be to one of the lower charges or, in theory, to some even lesser charge yet like child endangerment. I don't think that's likely for Nick, though. I don't see much incentive for a favorable plea offer.

The short story is: somewhere between 15-40 years. Possibly more, possibly less.

Shorter story: wait for sentencing.

Q: What about any kind of mental health center placement?
A: Unknown. The possibility is there, but it's not super likely.

According to this article, PA does use Nutraloaf (or at least they did as of 2013). Sounds like it'd make a hell of a mess if Nick does something to 'earn' it and gets the brilliant idea of throwing it or smearing it on the walls though.

This is Pennsylvania’s official recipe for Food Loaf, aka Nutraloaf. Inmates typically eat 4oz. slivers with their hands, utensils are not provided and might eat nothing but this for as long as one week. While Pennsylvania’s recipe is clearly intended to be as bland as possible, some states, prepare recipes with garlic powder or other intentionally off-putting flavors.
Recipe courtesy of the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections:

Recipe makes 21 servings.

10 ½ cups reduced fat milk, 2%
26 ¼ cups white rice, cooked
5 ¼ cups potatoes, grated raw, flesh and skin
5 ¼ carrots, grated
5 ¼ cabbage, shredded
15 ¾ cups oatmeal, dry
15 ¾ cups garbanzo beans, with liquid, mashed
1 ½ cups margarine

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients thoroughly in mixing bowl. Place paper liners in loaf pans, scale 29-30 oz. of batter into lined loaf pan. Bake for one hour and 15 minutes. Place on wire rack and cool thoroughly.
