Is it bad if I don't have nostalgia? Childhood sucked and the consoomer media from then is still available.

To me, this singular piece of music is distilled nostalgia.
It's a Summer night, you're up late, building a little house in a new world, and there's that gentle music softly playing.

Never forget if you already know......

The YTP that gave me nightmares as a kid

Oh how can I forget

Watching videos like this is always incredibly bittersweet. It is a quick glimpse back to a time, a world, a society that is probably never coming back. ☹️

Some nicely dressed young ladies, with incredibly good taste in music, take a trip to McDonald's in 1988.
EDIT: Notice that there is not even a hint of vocal fry during any part of this video. You're not going crazy, most people knew how to speak relatively properly up until 5 minutes ago. You're not going crazy, your society is decaying, and you are surrounded by people who are still in denial about it or are completely checked out.

Where my Qubo niggas at? I grew up without cable so my two most-watched TV channels growing up were PBS Kids and Qubo, which was part of the Ion Television umbrella. Of all the shows that they aired, the one I could see myself coming back to first would be Jacob Two-Two. It was centered around a kid whose life is just full of weird, mysterious shit happening to him, like he's in on some kind of secret. It's also set in Montreal (on top of already being a very Canadian show), which honestly kind of Montreal-pilled me since childhood. I've never been to Canada but if I do my first trip will be there.

I usually go down a rabbit hole of content when I look up my town’s name and see if anything comes up on ex. YouTube. I found entire films, videos about my high school and rap videos about my town. I found some old parkour videos of some kids going around the town jumping on things, videos of events happening. All of these in the span of 2000-2011-ish. It’s kind of crazy knowing that these things just lay there, on the servers of YouTube, waiting to be seen.

I’ve also used the wayback machine to see some old websites of yonder, seeing how things were back then. Some websites also still have videos archived from a webcrawl if you look hard enough.

Google Maps can also send you back to at minimum 2009, if you have fond memories of that time. I just enjoy looking at my town’s history.

I have, of course, archived everything I’ve found. These are pieces of history I’ve unburied, I feel like an archeologist finding all of this.

A song that was nostalgic for growing up in 1979 that is now nostalgic because it was made in 1995.

Ultima Online towards the end of its hay day was just all-encompassing, sandbox unlike anything since besides maybe SWG, and it's technically still alive today. I dipped back last year just to see how the remainder of population is holding out and the overall vibes remained as they ever were, which I find helluva rare for a MMO that's almost done with its 3rd decade of service.

This guy's videos were the shit back in the day, I still come back to watch that first clip after 12 years. A shame he stopped posting, but I do know he became a doctor, so good for him.
