Idt this got posted about in the wake of the Canonical nonce, but Lunduke has a new video kvetching about a FreeBSD dev:

TLDR a tenured FreeBSD dev with over 18 years worth of contributions posted some faggot shit about how israel is a nazi state on the official wiki, then Lunduke kvetched until it got shoah'd and the dev got (temporarily(?)) suspended from being able to commit to the project. On one hand politisperging in project documentation is as gay as it gets, yet on the other, I can't help but feel like Lunduke is a bit of a faggot for ostensibly trying to throw the CoC book at this guy. A specific quote Lunduke shows in his email correspondence with the FreeBSD team goes

"Does FreeBSD plan any response to this? Any comment you'd like to make? / I plan to publish a story around this in roughly 5 hours - if you would like to provide any details, clarifications, or comments simply send them over before then."

I get removing this guy's sperging from the FreeBSD wiki, but spamming them for "comments" and whether they've removed him from the project is exactly the kidna shit nobody in FOSS should support. FreeBSD ended up closing all convos on the matter and warns against starting it again under threat of forum suspension.

Just faggot shit across the board, but moreso from Loonspook's side than the other. I find their decision to 'temporarily' suspend the dev somewhat questionable, but also kind of understandable given that he misused project documentation in a very similar way to what Jeremy Bicha did (only he is not a convicted child rapist, just a politisperg). Their subsequent pruning of sperging on this topic is also probably a good choice. Shitflinging like this should have no place in technical discussion forums, so that's a + for FreeBSD in my book.

I use it on all my servers. Not because i want to, but because i ended up with it. Whenever i tried something else, it eventually caused some annoyance that i didn't like. Ubuntu is a very good server os in my opinion. You can forget about it for years, then apt-get update and be certain that it will be fine..
It also blows RedHat out of the water. RedHats "community" distros rugpull you (CentOS), and their Enterprise distro is full of quirks and specific retardation (XFS file system) and you need a PhD in quantum physics to write SELinux policies and they constantly attempt to jew you:

Least privilege is good when it's the least amount of privilege needed to do your job not the least amount of privilege possible so that nothing fucking works. And I bet the "security" of all the workarounds you mention in your edit which are re-implemented independently several times (meaning each implementation will have it's own fun and exciting vulnerabilities) is awful. There's no meaningful security to be gained once you're running untrusted code. If some app is willing to key log you the people who made it aren't going to just say "well shucks, this guy is running wayland. guess we can't keylog them. oh well".

At best if wayland was a step towards good sandboxing it is putting the cart WAY before the horse. You can give a person all the security training in the world, and teach them the importance of following procedure, never sharing passwords, and all that other shit. But if all the the security controls put into place keep someone from doing their job, that person will find a way to defeat those controls. All too often, the result is even less secure than if you had just left the person alone, with all security controls being defeated or ripped out wholesale, even those controls that were useful and appropriate, and not just the ones that would have prevented getting work done.

The the young desktop developer groups themselves are sometimes full of Europeans and typically big city Europeans which tend to be just communist. This can also be applied to various young American devs that live in big cities.

Another factor is the money. There is effectively no money to be made in the Linux desktop right now. And every attempt to make money is met with shrieking retard commies that claim it's no longer free software.

The smart libertarian ex linux users are now on Twitter promoting their new software that they sell. Or they made their own smaller Linux companies.

We completely ignored the fact that 10 to 15 years ago all the new devs coming into linux were a bunch of liberals and commies were actively indoctrinating them.
