Im still optimistic. Im sure it wont please everyone, but no Pdx game is perfect, even the great ones. I have a feeling optimization and bugs are gonna be the key here. It actually looks like the game is gonna have way more content than CK3 did, and decent sytems, unlike Vic 3, so the biggest thing going against it will be if it is a buggy mess.

Speaking of, Ive got my popcorn ready to see how bad this chink expansion breaks CK3. I watched their dev stream where they claim the game runs slower in the early game now but faster in the mid to late game with the new expansion. Im very skeptical of this claim.

From what I'm hearing from some youtubers it's pretty good. Lemoncake made a video going over it a few days ago

New OpenVic demo:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=p7y2aAmBdg0OpenVic can already load your favourite mods in its current state. That's one of the core promises of OpenVic: to be able to run Victoria 2 mods out of the box. The team continuously tests OpenVic with mods to make sure compatibility works as the game is developed.
What will come out first? Victoria Universalis mod for EU5 or OpenVic?
Eitherway Victoria 2 players will be eating good in the coming years.
Imperator Rome Victoria mod should have alpha available this year too. From the previews it looks amazing. Maybe even more complex than EU5.

OpenVic will probably release either next year or 2027, a proper Victorian era mod for EU5 will take at least a couple months of work so it will probably release first. Additionally, it will most likely be capable of even more complexity than IR Viccy thanks to EU5 being on a newer engine with better performance and modability. We're getting a dev diary on EU5 modding tomorrow so that should shed more light on it.

New Flags post, this time covering flags from all over the world but not showing off anything dynamic like before.
Really liked the Mesoamerican ones, Maya glyphs have a great look to them, and there was a clear association of particular glyphs with states, so a great way to get an accurate enough flag. Though my favorite has to be the Kaskankaham one, as the hand-eye ouroborous symbol has always been a favorite of mine in Mississippian iconography.

Give me all your rainbows. I got a good feeling about EUV. Or maybe I'm just starved for a good EU.

My first play through will be tall Bohemia. Embrace Jan Hus and become Hussite, kick all of Europe's ass, then bunker down and make fat stacks and revolutionize the world with crazy development.

Seems like it could be the most fun start since all that shit kicks off not too long after the start date.
I'll probably do either Castille or England to kind of learn how shit works

Speaking of dogshit VtM:B 2 was released today its apparently... dog shit.
To quote Mandalore when asked about the game "I made a Callisto Protocol DLC video instead."

Did they allow content creators to post videos of eu5 today?
https://youtube.com/watch?v=hqJiGYdOhtISomeone released footage of eu5 (Timelapse).

Surprisingly no blobbing by 1800s and underwhelming ottomans and russia. Revolutionary PLC with big Hungary and France, everywhere else looks the same as 1337.
They probably undertuned the AI in this game to prevent shit like France, The Timurids or the Ottomans just shitstomping everything.
