The funniest thing here is that the actions of the National Guard at Kent State were widely celebrated at the time. A Gallup poll indicated that 58% of Americans said that the students were to blame for getting themselves shot, and only 11% said that the soldiers were guilty. In all seriousness, when people ask me about Trump I tell them the truth from my own experience. For whatever reason, the four years Trump was in office were the only years of my adult life where I slowly started to see more money in my account at the end of the month. Like I was no longer living basically paycheck to paycheck. It wasn’t a huge amount, but little by little I actually was banking some cash after all my expenses. Then Biden got in and I was right back to paycheck to paycheck.

Yet the National Guard has been on call for such things before. Jan 6 for instance which Trump resisted doing, and being on call for this election in case anything happens and still on standby. The 1967 Detroit Riots is also one the most memorable times the National Guard was called in on a riot, as were the US Army. It's rather sad that Americans like him refuse to learn their own history.
