I'm really disappointed that Trump lost to him, but I didn't like Trump before he won his election either; For the most part, I simply hold respect for those that hold the nation's highest office, and I will continue to do the same for Biden when he's inaugurated (by which point I'll probably change my username, profile picture, and banner to something else since the novelty of having Biden has President is already wearing off on me)

I feel a similar way. I had issues with Trump but I disliked Biden more. The only election I was very PO’d was 2000. But life goes on and it’s best not to dwell on what you can’t control... I feel like some of these posters are probably younger because the first election or two that your preferred candidate loses hurts, especially if you’re young and idealistic.

There are some attributes about Trump I like, for one he doesn’t come across as spineless like most US politicians (McCain, Romney, Sanders, etc) and I do like how he is willing to fight tooth and nail. I didn’t like a lot of his positions though but I was/am concerned that Biden will be more hawkish on positions. I’m still a bit bitter about Obama’s reversal on his positions regarding the wars in the ME, his administrations prosecution of journalists, and the general hypocrisy... unfortunately I don’t think most Americans care about that.

Trump’s major weakness is his pride and hubris. In that regard he’s not much different from Clinton. Whereas Clinton was blinded by her pride and didn’t think she could lose, Trump dwelt too much on it. Imo Trump would’ve won by a landslide if he focused on dealing with coronavirus and the economic fallout rather than worrying about how the coronavirus would make him look. They also should’ve leaked the Biden emails sooner. By waiting like they did they ended up losing a lot of early voters. (Although if they wanted to do the “right thing,” they would’ve leaked them during the democratic primaries rather than holding onto them the till the last minute). So, I’m not heartbroken in the slightest.

Not to mention, I changed my profile banner and picture referencing Biden and his victory as part of a election bet, and I would've done the same if Trump won.

Election bets are fun... I took a bet that if Harris becomes president I would have to white knight her in A&N. If Biden does gets the boot or dies.. well that’ll be an interesting month for me lol.

I felt like it was a fake date too. July 4th and a lot of holidays are common fake birthdays. Plus 1984 also seems like an obvious call out to the book. Maybe I’m reading too much into this but I also believe the birthday to be fake for those reasons. If not it’s one hell of a coincidence. *Edit* it’s also a birthday date that I’d suspect a conservative that is critical of the federal government to select.
