Because the current narrative is "Trump is a threat to women", either because they are feeling threatened by the fact that white women voted for Trump, or because it's a last ditch effort, no idea, but it's pretty obvious that they want (particularly) young women to believe it, and it's sort of working based on how many retarded influencers are running with it and the number of made up "evil boys said this to my daughter today in school" tweets.
And Fuentes is right there to help them sell the idea of the boogeyman every single time they need it, without fail.

At this point he would have to be seriously brain damaged to not realize what effect this kind of stuff has and how it completely contradicts his stated "goals", so the likelihood of Fuentes not being a fed are zero.

Yes, if you look at everything Fuentes does, look at who benefits from his actions, it's always the same group getting something out of it and the same group being hurt by it. It's neither the people, the ideologies, or even (in the broadest sense) the "side" he claims to support.

I don't know if he flipped after Jan. 6th (I would guess it was earlier but who knows), but it's clear that, at this point, he's just a repressed homo who hates his own life and is actively working against nationalism.

I feel that Fuentes' main source of power is that to the left, he is the face of what they hate most. An influential, young, "white" male who openly displays white separatist sentiments and overt, patriarchal misogyny without any kind of serious blowback. The seethe that this generates legitimizes him to his followers, because if the left hates him so thoroughly then he must then be a genuine threat to them. Ironically, if they understood how ridiculed he is within a lot of the right wing, simply wrote him off as an irrelevant, grifting faggot, and mocked him the way that we do, rather than impotently seething about the dumb shit that he says, he would lose a large part of that appeal.
