I agree that he's clout hungry and insane, but thinking his involvement was just a one and done over J6 just doesn't track. After reading about how the Whitmer kidnapping plot went down, how the FBI agents were willing to outright break laws after being told explicitly not to do so by the DoJ, as well as the fact the entire plot was set up and led by two CIs who were actually under two separate FBI operations that were unaware of each other, I am fully convinced that something similar has occurred with Fuentes. He's the CI for two different FBI operations, one intended to monitor the far right, and the other intended to discredit the far right. That's why we've been getting this weird table tennis between supporting and disavowing Trump. Dumb as he is, he has to know how damaging that is to his credibility, and it's really clear that losing supporters is something he's really bothered about.
