just watched it in full, here is my amateur hour analysis.

Firstly: Chris is STILL living deeply in the past and fantasy. Bringing up (unprompted mind you) details from decades ago such as a video from new grounds from 2006 is kind of nuts. He feels perpetually victimised by it to the point where he is making a rambling half hour rant two decades after the fact. What's interesting is his reflection on this video. His statement of "why did people hate me as early as 2006?" is insightful in itself. According to Chris, the reasons are:

Being labelled narcissistic and arrogant (something he considers fair, apparently)
People taking the Sonichu comics out of context
The Autism

He also mentions his actions in the past were caused in part by his medication (SSRI's and Fluoxetine)
Obviously, this is objectively untrue. There is zero chance his medication made him do all that. What is particularly interesting is the way Chris says this: to me, it implies he is no longer taking these medications which is concerning. As someone who is on one of these medications, it is pretty important to continue taking it. Not end of world if you don't, but someone with as sever mental health issues as Chris, I am genuinely concerned he is no longer medicated. He states he has ADHD in the video too, which is very interesting to me. Chris was always autistic, but there are not many references I can recall to ADHD in the Chris Chan story. I wonder if this was a recent or in prison diagnosis, or him simply using it as a scapegoat.

Chris then admits he has been and arguably still is a bad person. He also states he is dumb and has been meted since 2000. He also acknowledges most people would have dropped off of the internet by now.
This is Chris NEARLY getting it. If he can come to this conclusion, why the fuck not go off the internet? I know he is WAY too far down the rabbit hole of internet nonsense that it essentially is his life, but still,

Chris then goes on to state that we are all perverts, including him. Then he talks about his "theoretical exes" again, name dropping Megan and Catherine as examples.
Prime example of his utter ridiculousness. He has said this a dozen times, and it has been discussed to literal death, but something worth reiterating is his utter inability to learn from.... any of it. He seems to STILL think Catherine was not a troll, has learnt nothing for his future relationships/friendships (if he ever has any), and seems to be dancing around the bigger issue of having sex with Barb. Chris has displayed a large array of sexual depravity over the years, but that one objectively IS the worst, and he refuses to address it externally and most likely, internally.

Lastly, he discusses religious figures and actions, as well as discussing the so called Sonichu medallion Curse. The medallions are designed to bless, not curse. Apparently.
Clearly this is reference to discussion of him in the wider internet. Personal friends of mine who are not online much know of the medallion curse and mentioned it to me, so I imagine Chris is super angry that it has gone somewhat mainstream.

TLDR
Chris is whining for a half hour about shit from before some adults were even born and has learnt legitimately nothing

What would he even do with the majority of his spare time then though?

Chris is obviously extremely egotistical and loves the attention he gets even though the number of people who interact with him are steadily decreasing as well as the fact zoomers in general are boring and scared to be offensive.

Outside of whatever the Flutter situation I imagine the best Chris is going to get in person is people taking footage of him on their phones while they point and laugh wherever he goes.

I just watched that piece of shit video, he took some responsibility but still argued that the trolls still called about for his bullshit instead of just praising him whenever he did something "good"

And the repenting. There's no the amount of repenting that chris could do that, can't unbang his mom.

His ego always surprises me. Just when you think he's more normal, nope, he now has a direct line to God.

It's something he says from time to time, that he has a dash of ADD/ADHD. He said it to Jackie, a Facebook post from 2016, and in a jail letter. Though he has a habit of claiming to have disorders he doesn't actually have, like the time he claimed he personally had dementia.

Now that's projection! An average person does not commit incest with his elderly mother, does not lose his virginity to a hooker, nor draws horrible porn to down rape urges. All this "redemption arc" bullshit is about is him trying to BS the average person to stop seeing him as scum. It's sorta like the "I HATE ME TOO" crap he did on ED article.

As nice as it would be for Chris to finally grow the fuck up and accept accountability...we all know that's not happening.

This video is just the latest in this misguided self-titled 'redemption arc' where he's trying to shake off the decades of bad reputation he garnered by being an egotistical shithead. Which in usual fashion is him only saying the things he thinks people want to hear, like a child caught with a hand in the cookie jar apologizing for breaking the rules with "I'm sorry." But him blaming the medications, as well as switching over to blaming other people for being perverts and, as you say, him dancing around the proverbial elephant in the room underscores he isn't being truthful. Quite frankly at this point I'd expect he's honestly embarrassed, if only because he now understands what a colossal mistake it was after the fact (since, again, he was BOASTING about it at first and making up nonsense about saving her soul from a car crash), and it's become a topic Chris doesn't want brought up again as it makes him uncomfortable these days.

Perhaps Flutter DID finally ditch his ass, because between that weird shit with the Harmonycon White Ranger nonsense and now this, it's similar to him being apologetic way back when certain gal-pals stopped talking to him. Especially since he still believes Catherine was legit despite it's well beyond confirmed she was a Kiwi double agent and that relationship wasn't ever as deep as what he likely had with Flutter, a girl who unironically wanted to spend time with him post-jail saga.

The problem there is Chris pretty much refuses to accept that what he makes up in his head isn't official. In the sense of 'this now literally exists somewhere in the multiverse' because he desperately wants to exist in a fun happy cartoon world that coddles him instead of the shitshow that is reality. He straight up is trying to force through sheer will his own idiotic line of Transformers figures by setting up photos of his customs in real stores.

I can definitely understand if someone really likes something only for a new season or a series version of a movie, what have you, to go and completely screw with the lore, not focus on key relationships and not give any character growth etc etc.

Which is why fanon exist and for no other reason. The problem is when you're so mad about Sonic not having blue arms you commit assault on innocent people.

Of course pre-2021 Chris would have raised the roof if this announcement had come then, but Praetor Chris is soft and marketable.

I don't really think he's mad about anything, just doesn't have it in him anymore.
