This dude should have been canceled long ago but because he says the right things he is afforded leinency where there should be none. Not because I like cancel culture but because if it has to be a thing it should at least be doled out fairly.

That's how badly he misunderstood the games, and if he made a movie, it would definitely crash, burn, and leave radioactive fallout. Some of the older fans that played DN3D pretty much walked away from the fandom after DNF dropped, and what was left was either long-suffering normies that went quietly back to the older games or those weirdos overly obsessed with DNF's digital titties. I can understand however why some people walked away, DNF all but glassed the planet, and made everything related to it into a joke that was long past it's prime.

He missed the point so bad i am almost certain DNF was worse than the PS1 Duke Nukem games

Randy Pitchford is not a big enough target for this though. Like amateur "professional" magician is lower than a mime on the progressive stack.

You aren't wrong here. PS1 Duke entries do have that Duke's spirit, at the very least, while all that DNF have is portraying one of the badass action heroes as egomaniacal dumb creep. I still doubt those twins were of legal age.

I think, if they were ever to do another Duke game, they'd have to just utterly retcon DNF out as not one of the canon games. It's just too damaging, and at this time, it's just better to pretend it doesn't exist.

My only worry is if they do a 'proper' Duke and have him go back to his asskicking roots, the games' might still be irreparably tarnished from DNF. Also you know we'll see a return of those cringey people coming back to hoot over digital tiddy, which doesn't help alleviate the prior reputation either.

Well shit this looks pretty damn GOOD for the time the game was developed! Why the fuck did this get scrapped and we waited another 10+ years for the abortion that was the final release of DNF?

If the actual game code gets leaked ima play it, even if it is 'a smattering of barely populated test levels'.

*edit* FUCKING DOWNLOADING but fuck anonfiles. I must have tried 10 times now getting as far as 80% before failing, and it won't resume no matter what. sigh. I am gonna look around, sure there must be tons of links up now.

If the leakers follow through with the source code leak with the game editing tools then UE1 is about to see a huge resurgence.

Based on what I've seen in interviews, 3DR kept trying to play catch-up with whatever the latest and greatest games were doing but the team wasn't big enough to finish the game before the next latest and greatest release, so they played catch-up forever until the money finally ran dry. Then they sold it off to Randy who finished it with a team he slapped together for cheap with too tight a schedule and we get the DNF we know and love today, that I paid $100 for the Balls of Steel edition release date delivery from Amazon that is still sitting in my closet to this day as a reminder to not get hype for anything ever again.

heh, glad to see I was not the only one who got the balls of Steel edition.
I still have the duke nukem Byst in my parents house.
