Truly we have replaced religion with the algorithm. You cannot say such a word, it offends the great computer (Peace Be Upon It)! I've heard people complain about the fake term "clanker" for AI saying its offensive and will eventually be regarded poorly. That point keep your eyes on the ground and be silent, you are doomed.

There was a brief moment where I considered getting serious with my own channel, but then I thought about the logistics and the amount of time and resources it would take to make one (1) video. Not to mention the everpresent threat of simply not getting any views despite all that effort (One time I uploaded an AMV that was doing well, but it got claimed and deleted immediately). YouTube just isn't a sustainable career path, it's a side hustle at best.

People see youtube as a way to make streaming profitable now. You do videos to get enough people to super chat you when you stream. Then you say you're a professional video editor and edit other people's videos to make money while youtube pays everyone pennies. It's all a weird grift.

When I grew up (I'm an old zoomer), my only reference for Ness as a character was Smash. Tbh, it really wasn't because I was a dumb little kid. The last Mother game came out… what? On the 64 or Gameboy and wasn't even released in the west? Not to mention even when it got re-released on virtual console for Wii U, it was Europe-only wasn't it?

I had to learn about it outside of Smash because I was curious as to what the hell Earthbound is. lol. A lot of these Smash characters come from dead/retired series.

These people making fun of kids for not knowing all the ~kewl Nintendo lore~ need to get the stick out their ass and realize that they ARE becoming the next boomers yelling at the clouds. And Stop gatekeeping something that's arguably meant for 10 year olds more than it is for 40 year olds.

As a celeb gossip consumer (a bad habit I'm trying to quit because it's all dumb), I just find it funny that they're obviously building Zara up as the "next pop girl icon", after Charli XCX said she didn't like the Brat era that was astroturfed everywhere.

Ironically, Charli was getting a lot of shit by these people because she was liking memes about how Taylor Swift isn't a nice person. Charli's song "Sympathy is a Knife" is blatantly about Taylor Swift, as they had a brief friendship with each other because Taylor dated Matt Healy from the 1975 at one point and Charli is now married to the band's drummer.


Cannot wait til Zara does something bad like gets too popular and they mob attack her too. These people love building artists up as replacements for problematic people, but they also love it when they kill themselves too.

I will say that 40 hour weeks can be radically different depending on workplace. Low stakes office work was easy as fucking piss and I had all the time in the world after work to do whatever the fuck I wanted, hit the gym, go to a movie, play video games etc. Hell I could even go to work hungover as fuck and only be like what, 10% less efficient. However I'm guessing this guy is a line cook, because chef/kitchen work is a different beast altogether, my only memories of chef work were working and sleeping and somehow realising that 3 years had passed and I'd saved enough money to get the fuck out of kitchen work. I got ripped as fuck in the processs mind so there's that.

Earthbound was released on the SNES and sold incredibly poorly in general. So if you're a European you had basically no way of playing it unless your parents were rich enough to buy you TWO consoles (as the Sega Mega Drive was the one all the kids had) and a decent enough library for them (You're not going to pick up a random SNES game that barely anyone has heard of)

Service industry work can be tiresome, i'll give them that. But these people are the sort that believe that walking around dogs deserves to be unionized and paid better while saying that farmers are obsolete and greedy

Earthbound was never released in PAL regions.

It wasn't uncommon for people to own 2 consoles. People used to buy 2nd hand and consoles were quite affordable after a year or two on the market. You would buy random games because you often did go to the market or car boot sales and buy a loose cart based just on the name and cover picture. SNES games used to go from £2 to £25 on car boots with a lot of people selling random games or even even consoles for £50.

As a kid it was easy to get 20 or so games in a console generation per console. Birthday and Christmas would be like 3 new games or a new console and a game. Then second hand games through pocket money. You wouldn't have brand new latest stuff but you didn't need it. You were pretty chuffed with any game as long as it wasn't complete shit.

its crazy the kind of deals you could find back then, and even if the games were shit, they could hopefully hold your attention till the next activity.

Steam sales kind of does the same thing. You get older titles for pennies. But Steam is an eternal platform so we don't see it as buying a generation of games like we did with carts. Modern gaming is so bad there's not a lot of new super deals either so we've lost aspects of that too.

Earthbound is incredibly foundational in a lot of ways though. Giygas as a final boss utterly upended the concept of final bosses in gaming, and the fractal nature of Giygas wasn't really showcased by another character I know of in any form of media until Fused Zamasu came along in Dragon Ball Super... 22 years later. Honestly I use Giygas as a foundational concept for my conceptual knowledge of Hell beyond the 9th layer. Those that are too malignant to even be frozen in ice get trapped behind a fractal consumption of their own hedonism and blind greed, just like Porky narrates. Being assholes and forsaken, praying does in fact not work for those on Layer 10 and beyond, as the following layers serve as further compaction into the spiritual equivalent of ADX Florence. Also, try saying "Giegue" 5 times fast and you'll feel like the alien. Earthbound and Mother 3 on the GBA are both super cool games, M3 has a lot more heart tugging going on while still keeping up the humor. Porky Minch in particular is another fascinating character between the two games. Only freaks want to end up like Mr. Minch does.
