That depends what you mean by "these countries".
In Poland and Hungary most people, especially boomers who lived through the communist era, vote for right-wing parties like PiS or Fidesz because Poland and Hungary were treated badly by Russia.
In Russia itself people who lived through the communist era tend to be nostalgic for it because the USSR gave them a guaranteed paycheque and didn't sell the country off to oligarchs. That said, the Communist Party doesn't do that well because those people (apart from the diehard communists who vote Communist or the ultranationalists who vote LDPR) just vote for United Russia like everyone else unless United Russia screws up, which they did with pensions a couple years back.

Nostalgia isn't the same as really wanting it back.

Iirc in Romania and Bulgaria the boomers vote for the 'social democratic' parties which are basically just nostalgia factor pensioners interest parties (also corrupt af)

The younger generations there are either #girlboss pro-EU liberals or right wing nationalists and monarchists

It's pretty generous to call PiS right wing they are center right at best or conservative.

usa left wing exists but not as its own political party, rather they're a faction within the larger democratic party. the party as a whole is not left wing at all, it's a party of corporate interests first and foremost, and usually these corporate interests successfully placate and appease the leftists in the party by handing out socially liberal policies that make progressives happy without negatively affecting the corporate class.

I really feel like not being able to critique the stories is a huge reason. Anyone can write any nonsensical bullshit and since everyone has to play along like it's real everything just gets huge upvotes.

It doesn't help that ever story on there now is like 45 parts of just the most redundant, boring shit.

Ooh, this one is easy to explain. If you accept the premise that sex≠gender, "female" is how you get around the "but a woman might not have a vagina/might have a penis" nonsense by simply swapping out one word. Opting out of the mental gymnastics makes them seethe so they are looking for any reason to dismiss your comment entirely. Instead of accepting there are inherent differences between those that have a Y chromosome and those that don't, they can simply dismiss what you say out of hand. I guess while we're supposed to accept sex≠gender, somehow biologic terms for sex like female are the same thing as gender terms like women. It's all just so fucking tiring.
