It’s fucking depressing seeing what Reddit and the internet has become.

Used to be that you could freely discuss anything but now we are constantly watched by the worst Karens imaginable. And then anyone who wants to create a place where you can is prevented from doing so by payment processors or the other new gatekeepers of the internet.

After I left the church, I was randomly browsing the Utah State Sex Offender Registry and looking at my old neighborhood.

There lied 2 of my neighbors, older men with wives charged with sex crimes against children. Fully allowed to attend church every week, all 3 hours.

Unbelievable how this organization defends child predators from Joseph Smith’s day to the present. — and alienates people who have been forced to live in a body that doesn’t align with their gender, (as if they’re some kind of predator)

So sick of this homophobic / transphobic narrative this church has displayed for so many years. I’m exhausted.

/r/complaints is full of absolutely unhinged, borderline murderous TDS.

I find this Epstein stuff so absolutely dystopian, because Democrats couldn't care less about Epstein ten minutes ago, but then they got the update that we've always been at war with Eurasia and now they're screaming about it.

And I'm here like yes. please. absolutely root out all of the pedophiles compromised by israeli intelligence but not only is the Democratic establishment not going to do that, the lay Democrats, on some level, I think know exactly why they're not going to do that, but it's the football they have this round so they're just going to go on about it until they get a new update.

Does your family think you're mental?

Since the pandemic began, I've lived a low-key existence (and I'm fine with this). I work from home, keep updated on vaccines, don't eat in restaurants, mask in enclosed public spaces and keep my social circle very small. I've missed out on large family gatherings, weddings and I haven't travelled on an airplane. All of this has helped me maintain my Novid status but what I'm really trying to avoid is Long Covid. I have loads to keep me busy and I'm generally content. I am willing to sacrifice to stay Covid-free.

The thing is, my family have begun questioning my mental status. I know they collectively worry about me and talk about my mental health between themselves. They allude to my mental state in conversations and tell me I'm missing out. It comes from a place of caring but does anyone else feel their family think they're nuts?

20 July UPDATE: Thanks for all the thoughtful and insightful responses. There were far more than anticipated but I read each and every one. All the best to all of you.

I used to enjoy reading fundiesnark because they kept good tabs on mental fundies, but they're incapable of posting anything without showing what cringe AWFLs they are. At the time there were automatic stickies at the top of every post talking about how we need to FUND ABORTION.
I'm pro choice, but this shit is cringe.
