reddit General

As it turns out, the powertripping r/art Reddit mods unjustly banned over 5000+ people THIS YEAR ALONE! Out of every r/art ban in this year, only 63 of them had a valid ban reason:story: link (archive)
I wonder if this was them using one of those "anti-chud" bots that auto-bans you if it sees you post in The_Donald or KotakuInAction or the like?

Man I used to think Fatrick was a unique specimen of lowcowdom but seeing this recent controversy made me realize that there are thousands of individuals like him he just happened to break the containment of becoming minor forum janny and instead was exposed by twitter. Kinda unsettling when you read every mod post in Fatrick cadence.

There's a specific type of bot that shows up on reddit, all the fucking time, to the point that most subreddits have a rule specifically about it.

They will post an image of a T-shirt.
Then they will, on another account, reply going "That's great looking, where can I get it?"
And the original bot will reply with a link to the user-submittable fly by night Chinese print shop selling shirts.

I've seen variants of this with art prints, AI art slop, and stolen porn fanart.

Bot posts an art image, either stolen from DA/FA/X/Tumblr/pixiv, reposted from the subreddit, or ai generated
Bot replies as another account going "that's great where can I get it as a print/poster/wallscroll " or "who is the artist / where can I find it / etc"
Original bot posts a link to a fly by night user-submittable print shop (redbubble, etsy, etc) or a shitty fake art gallery or deviantart/pixiv/twitter user page that further links to the print shop.

So while the r/art mod was probably a 500 pound janny, he also probably wasn't entirely in the wrong. Reddit has a REALLY BAD problem with these types of bots.

Checks out because I don't know who else but a redditfag would have
a couple loose benadryls you had in your nightstand drawer & a gram of Mexican brick weed you forgot about
That is some majorly heather blue t-shirt & GAP blue jeans 7 days a week, 14 tupperwares containing a skinless chicken breast, six potato wedges, and a scoop of boiled green peas, type behaviour.

"DogAdvice" is popping up a lot lately. Not content with /Pitbull, /pitbulls, and every other board they've taken over, of course DogAdvice has an "anti-breedist" rule so every post is about someone's genetically engineered murder dog exhibiting "aggressive behavior" and asking what to do about it, and you can't give them the real answer which is to stop being human detritus and get that fucking thing out of the house before it kills your kids, preferrably by shooting it in the head so it doesn't terrorize someone else.

I feel like this is very context dependent, tbh. There's a difference between a brand new account (or one just old enough to get through an account age filter) making a single post or small series of posts that seem obviously self-promoting, and a known user who's been on a sub for a significant length of time and contributed valuable content making a mistake by sharing a link to their print shop.

I guess what I'm saying is that I get the original decision to remove the link, but not the ensuing shit-fit. The mod in this incident had multiple opportunities to step back and question whether he was making the right decision in dealing with a very cooperative user, and opted instead to double down in a way that did substantially more damage than if he had just taken the minimal risk that he was dealing with an unusually dedicated spammer. If it's so difficult to moderate any particular sub that this sort of decision seems like the only viable option for dealing with spam, then the sub is one step away from being declared unmoderated anyway.

Screenshot_20251203-063703.Reddit.png

I'm not a lesbian but browse this sub for the mild entertainment of them complaining about bisexuals and men.
But today I find found a gold post here, lesbians who just want to live their lives and not be political cogs getting harassed by their own.

I'm currently living in Philadelphia as a third year law student. I got married to my wife this past summer and when I finish school we're planning to work for her family's business in her native New Jersey.
Naturally, sometimes my classmates and I talk about our lives and it comes up that I have a wife. And the progressive queer students (who are free to have whatever views they want) immediately start viewing me as a safe space to talk about silly stuff like raves and drag shows to straight up thinking I want to listen to them talk about killing cops and overthrowing the government (lmao, sure dude)
Yes, I'm a lesbian. Yes, I have a wife. No, I'm not an anarchist. No, I don't see myself as a solider in some imaginary revolution against the US government. My wife and I are simple gals from blue collar backgrounds that like fishing in the summer and ice skating in the winter. You won't find us at drag shows or walking around with our tits out at some parade. You're more likely to find us at home watching a ball game or going to do something outdoorsy.
I don't view my sexuality as something special or interesting about me. I can marry another woman without being a Marxist or an anarchist. We used to all agree on that, but "queer" is much more of a broad far left worldview these days than it is a thing that you are.

Of course you can't do that, you must be anti-cop, and pro everything conservatives don't support.

Best_Good_8550 52 points 15 hours ago
I’ve noticed this in some places too. Like queer has become more of a political stance than any type of sexuality. My politics do lean pretty far left but I’ve never really thought it had anything to do with my sexuality.

[–]jsswarrior444 12 points 10 hours ago
Well, in this world, sexuality has been highly political for centuries lol. How are you far left and unaware of that? We live in a patriarchy

[–]Best_Good_8550 3 points 7 hours ago
I’m not unaware that sexuality is politicized. I just don’t relate me believing we need to reform the criminal justice system, tax billionaires more, invest in public services, etc. is bc I’m a lesbian, it’s because I think it’s what is better for society.

[–]powerofyams2 6 points 7 hours ago
unfortunately we don't have that privelege, even our gender is politicized.

[–]jsswarrior444 7 points 7 hours ago
Well, gay and women's rights are always under attack. If your politics does not include that, it means you're ok with government taking away our rights as lesbians. Furthermore, politics extends far beyond what government/politicians do. Everything Ideology touches turns political.

EmpathicPurpleAura 3 points 3 hours ago
Yeah that's a mistake people make all the time actually. Sometimes all we have in common is sexuality, we should expect that lesbians look and think differently everywhere. Interestingly enough in Kansas city there was a block of lesbians who all lived in the same area. It was an intentional effort to make a space where lesbians could be themselves. They made it so lesbians could buy houses for cheap and soon womyn town was made.
What they learned though is that not everyone got along too, even in the 90s. There were many different kinds of lesbians from different walks of life. Having so many different types of lesbians in the same area was amazing. But it wasn't perfectly cohesive like a lot of them thought it would be.

I‘m a 3rd year law student (in a country where law school takes 5 years 🥲) and I feel this in my soul!
Sometimes I feel as if women, gay people and lesbians especially are held to a higher standard than straight men. When I‘m around my more "woke" friends I often get looks of disbelief when I tell I‘m interested in corporate or sales law instead of going into immigration or family law or something. That’s just not what personally interests me or something I‘d be good at doing (way too emotional) but just because I‘m a lesbian there seems to be some silent expectation that I am.
Queer groups IRL are often simply chronically online people in the offline world. I try not to talk too much shit about them as they‘ve achieved good stuff on campus before but I‘m not too keen on befriending them over differences in personal beliefs.
Good thing I currently have a gay professor and had another one last year. There’s also a network for queer attorneys and legal team so there’s some representation of gays/lesbians in more traditional fields of work.
I could write a lot more but I‘m running out of time before class. I still have to read the ECJ ruling on same sex marriage, kinda fitting on this topic as well haha.

Of course this isn't good enough if your lgbt you MUST support the party fighting for your "rights"

(SilverConversation19 -13 points 16 hours ago
I say this very gently. There’s a lot of judgement here about what it means to be a lesbian from you — we’re not all marxists or anarchists. Drag shows are fun. They’re part of gay culture. Pride is fun, you can go and just have fun, you don’t need to take your bra off. Stop making gay friends in academia, you’ll have a better time.
But I do want to stress: all cops suck. They’re not going to spare you from state violence just because you believe they’re not bad guys, or because you’ve got a blue collar background, or because you don’t like pride events. You’re gay. You’re a woman. You have established to the state you are married to a woman. When the government gets bored with harassing trans people and abducting brown/Black immigrants, there is an extremely high likelihood we will be next.

[–]softanimalofyourbodyButch 36 points 14 hours ago
“You’re next” is a wild statement to make like they haven’t been attacking women the whole time. I’m not going to band together with people who want me to take dick against … people who want me to take dick. Shocker.

[–]Legal-Sprinkles8862 12 points 10 hours ago
I think you're both right. But that's probably because I am a black woman & a lesbian who had to fight to get away from my family, who forced dick on me, only to come out & immediately be told I am transphobic & biphobic simply because I refused to take or suck dick or strap.
I noticed that turning down the black women & mascs who are touch me nots was 100% allowed for years. But once I ended up in a situation where I had to tell white queers & fem presenting trans women the same thing, suddenly I was a hateful bitch who wanted trans women stripped of their rights.
The one exception was the one time a former trans fem friend found out that I declined a pre-op trans man & still decided that ALSO made me transphobic. I don't understand the logic behind that statement at all 😵‍💫

[–]softanimalofyourbodyButch 6 points 9 hours ago
To be clear I agree that cops suck and not all lesbians are anarchists or whatever! I just find it so fucking corny to say “youre next” in any context like this and it’s also incredibly ignorant and misogynist. We’ve been attacked by both sides the whole time, misogyny just isn’t “cool” for leftists to talk about

[–]Legal-Sprinkles8862 1 point 9 hours ago
I think you are taking their statement out of context...mostly because you rewrote it & added a threatening tone that simply wasn't present when I read their comment. 😅
A great example is that trans ppl & brown ppl are the main targets of the government currently. But I am fully aware that gay people & black ppl can easily be their MAIN target again at any time & so it doesn't benefit me to be lax about other communities being targeted. That doesn't mean I believe gay ppl & black ppl aren't under attack as well. I am fully aware that they are. Heck, I was just stalked by the police for being homeless & they claimed I was "suspicious" because I was sleeping in a public parking lot. They threatened me & haven't backed off for the last 5 months. That is due to me being black first & homeless second. I was also publicly threatened with rape simply because a man found out I am gay. No one said a word. No one backed me up, but many times, other women will step up if the woman is straight but still uninterested. So yes, I know I am not safe now, but the point is actually that when they are done with one group, they will just move to the next with the same worsening tactics & less legal protections. That's all the person you were talking to was saying.
I think it would help if we all read things without projecting meaning & tone onto written words. I wrote all of this in a monotone, but many ppl insist on reading all my comments with an angry or aggressive tone simply because I show that I am a black woman with my avatar. I've realized that it isn't for me to solve, but since you did reply to me about a clear misunderstanding, I thought I would go ahead & address it.

[–]softanimalofyourbodyButch 1 point 9 hours ago
I didn’t add a tone, and it’s kind of weird to lecture me about reading into comments when you’re the one who read a different tone in me quoting them... I just don’t agree that trans people are being targeted. Women are. Actively. It’s just not cool to talk about. So it’s corny and misogynist to say “we’re next.”)

Sorry ladies but personal values are for men and conservatives now:

(RafflesXBunnyGold Star 19 points 15 hours ago
tbf you're assuming a lot from her post. She didn't say anything more than that she's not an anarchist or marxist. You can't really tell what her views are on all the topics you said based on that alone >_>

[–]frdoe1122 13 points 12 hours ago
Lesbians have been attacked since the dawn of time so that makes absolutely no sense for you to say we’re next. We’ve been first in line always.

[–]powerofyams2 -4 points 8 hours ago
so why make it easier for them?

[–]PlaguingYou 3 points 5 hours ago
we are making it easier by not agreeing with things that don't align with our values? fuck ogf

[–]powerofyams2 2 points 4 hours ago*
What values might that be? In the US they make it impossible to have complex opinions on these issues with the way the government is set up.

[–]PlaguingYou 2 points 4 hours ago
you can have any number of opinions regardless of your government or what you vote for. and the values for example in my case i am against medicalizikg children, that apparently makes me a conservative. i don't care, i think it's gross medical malpractice

[–]frdoe1122 1 point 41 minutes ago
And how am I doing that?

[–]powerofyams2 1 point 9 minutes ago*
you specifically aren't (that i know of), iam mostly talking about enabling people that are passing laws like this in the US-

[–]Cautious_Garlic_8816 29 points 16 hours ago*
I say this very gently. This response is incredibly condescending.

[–]GoofyAhhMissesFemme 20 points 16 hours ago
I think you said that very cautiously garlicky!

We will be next? Are they going to make it so insurance won't cover the pharmaceuticals we must take to be sexually attracted to women?)

There's a bit more but that's all I'll share.

C'mon now, there's a difference between being a janny and sitting in a pointless list to make sure a janny can't steal your buddy's forum.

... ok, not MUCH of one, granted.

Oh, the bots tend to not be completely new. There are several karma farming subreddits that the admins allow, that are just full of bots posting and upvoting and replying to each other with chatgpt speak. It's how they bypass the account age filter, the account updoots filter, etc.

Imagine if you couldn't access most of the Farms until you got 100 winner stickers and had oh, 1500 net positive ratings, for example -- you'd have socks showing up in some thread giving each other stickers and replying to each other constantly about inane stuff until they hit the goal. The admins let those subs go because it keeps the view / active user numbers up for the advertisers. What you usually see when you open those bots is a large burst of activity after they gain the account (either bought it, stole it, or created and sat on it for a few weeks/months) and Karma farmed, then another long pause and then they start posting the stupid t-shirt / art / etc spam and replies. You can usually tell because it's almost always the same fucking text of the spam.

GibberishMcNumberson: "Wow that's amazing, where can I buy it?!" (insert random fake typos)
GibberishMcNumbersonOP: "You can get it here [redbubble/etsy/etc link]"
(Neither of which would have any relevant posting history.)

You can see the same thing happening on X, although it's less popular now that the Indians have figured out they can just do the X version of karma farming and daddy Elon will give them money for ruining his site.

But yeah, the moderator was clearly just being his little "that guy" self. You see that kind of person all over the place, you give them a little power and they become tyrants, and god forbid you challenge their Izzat, even briefly. The guy challenged the big dick janny's power so he had to be smacked down, otherwise how would you believe know that the mod had a big dick? Duh. It's common sense when you think about it.

And yes as someone mentioned reading all reddit janny, especially power janny, posts as if they're coming from Fatrick makes everything make sense.

AI has the issue of the niggertron paradox. You either have AI that's functional and racist, or AI that is neither functional nor racist. If they train it based on reddit janny behavior, it will have random power trips and act like a completely unhinged piece of crap. If it is trained to only ban actually bad content, the left-wing hugbox explodes.
AI becoming racist every time we expose it to human behavior and people being upset about it never cease to amuse me.

Recently reddit has gotten better at playing the cat and mouse game with that guy. He's a fucking menace.
But reddit, I presume, nukes those accounts. Which is different than a subreddit ban that other mods can undo

My favorite thing about reddit is how it shows that the majority of (especially young) people have little shame, no opsec and barely put any thought into how much information you can gather about them just based on their posting history.

Example:
A guy post a retarded pencil drawing on r/pokemon on lined school paper of a Pikachu. You immediately clock him as autistic and check out his profile. Might be funny.

His post history consists of him ranting about his never fulfilled desire to fuck the characters from cars, lamenting the size of his dick on a smalldickhelp subreddit, while also posting pictures of his micro on some small dick humilation reddit. He also posts on femboy / furry subreddits.
In between few boring memes about some other spergy videogames, some posts on the subreddit of his city, depressionposting. He also posts on r/teenagers which makes this entire ordeal even more questionable.

You just got more information than you would ever want about this Pikachu scribbling spastic. I don't know but this phenomenon fascinates me. Can't get that on any other website.
Lol it used to be like that when I trolled Facebook groups ages ago.

It would some random woman like "PERSONALLY MY HUSBAND LOVES GETTING GINGER SHOVED UP HIS ASSHOLE, HES HAPPY THAT I GET FUCKED NY OUR NEIGHBOR" and the whole profile is wide open. Like Goatse-level of wide open.

And you see pictures of the husband going to little league with their kids. It always made me laugh but then feel really sad.

This sounds like some fetish shit. It has to be. It sounds like some horribly written hentai main protagonist dialogue. Gross nasty.

This "masc lesbian" gives a girl a totally not creepy note because some guy said he would smash. I can't even imagine the level of fucking weirded out I would be.
This might be some form of autism I didn't know I had but look at the nail beds and how wide they are. Even if a woman who doesn't do fake nails, women's nails tend to be smaller and less round at the end.

Those are fucking man hands, albeit well-kept and manicured. But man hands none the less. These tranny lunatics really think women can't tell?

Also another obvious tell is the handwriting. Even women who write sloppily definitely write witg tend to write their letters being more bubbly and round, I think the handwriting itself is very masculine.

Do you guys see what I'm seeing or did my schizophrenia finally grow in??

But the biggest tell of all? SAYING "GIRL TO GIRL" AND BEING SERIOUS ABOUT IT.

Honestly, as a woman who's older than 20, I'd never say that to a woman I'm trying to genuinely look out for, especially if it concerns her safety. We all know trannies love being GIRLS and not women.

lmao just like in the Discord DMs.
Why did that remind me of this classic
