Here's a link to something that can scrape comments from Reddit's API somehow. It can show the history of suspended accounts but I can't confirm that it shows all of the deleted comments. Considering I can read some wrongthink comments, it does save some of them.

I almost wonder if the total APR exceeded local Usury laws and that's why they are lowering the payment.
One state I lived in had usury laws on the books that included total interest and all fees including late fees in the max interest rate.
I had a coworker who was sort of an idiot, set up autopay and never checked his loan account. He was two weeks late with one payment due to an unexpected hit to his bank balance, called up the lender, explained the situation and next paycheck and paid them his payment + the late fee. (he was also getting raped on the interest rate but that's another story)
What they didn't tell him was that they had billed him extra interest on his unpaid principal, and because that wasn't paid, charged him an extra late fee. So something like a year later he learns about this because his rolling late fees + compounded unpaid interest is now more than his payment, so he's not even making a short payment anymore.
So I check the laws, and sure enough state says their Usury was capped at (IIRC) 27% including any bullshit fees including late fees, so he's got a solid case to make them reduce the ammount he's owed.
Then I look at his lender. Its some bank owned by the Blackfoot tribe in the Dakotas. Sovereign immunity and tribal law means state law doesn't apply. He's stuck being raped by the injuns.
Having been car shopping with women before, all I will say is "Never again. I either get the car for them by myself and they show up to sign the paperwork, or I have no part in the ensuing transaction". Every woman I have been with has that exact fucking attitude to the purchase. Walking away from table never once occurs to them, getting a different vehicle or a different brand doesn't enter their mind once they picked something.
There was one time it was not completely horrendous.
My sister got her car totaled by a drunk driver - thankfully it was parked and she wasn't driving and she had non-shit insurance, so she had a check from the insurance company. She saw a few years old Chevy at a Honda dealership that was a trade in, did a test drive, liked it and told the sales guy "I have $Number in a check from my insurance company because someone totaled my car. I need $Number to be the OTD price - tax, title, license, and extended warranty. that's it, that's my budget so take it or it won't work." and the sales guy said "Yeah we can do that" since he was happy to be rid of the thing and was really just looking to get the trade-in value back.
You are 100% correct, and there is definitely a market for putting desperate people who are retarded with money over the barrel.
However, I dislike predatory lenders
I feel its sort of like with cigarettes. You don't need to regulate the market anymore than it is, just have anyone paying over 15% APR sign a plan-english form that says "I understand I am being bent over and raped by these loan terms but am forced to accept that by my situation".

I opened the spoiler. I didn't the first time I saw it because I saw the horrified reactions, but then my stupid, dumb, retard curiosity got the better of me, and someone decided to put it in the community update thread, so I went back to it and finally opened it.
That is actually so horrific that it didn't even register in my brain. Like, yeah, I see it. I know why it's bad. But I just had no reaction.
I think at this point my brain has seen so many horrific things on the internet that it won't let shit like that pierce through. My point is: if you've been on the internet as long as I have, how does something like this even surprise you anymore? Of course someone did that.

I don't see how this is even mildly provoking Reddit staff instead of the Redditors themselves.
