Any post or comment on reddit that contains the words "as a scientist" is guaranteed to be the most nonsensical posturing to support some unscientific agenda. If any actual real science was uncovered it would be immediately labelled a conspiracy theory and cancelled if it didn't fit the narrative. Reminds me of when Darwin's theory of evolution came out, and the religious majority tried to ridicule and suppress it for years, banning textbooks and prohibiting it being taught at school. Humans never really change

I didn't see the comments but I guess it has something to do with this Forbes article that was posted.

There’s no technological reason why a researcher couldn’t have switched the codons for one amino acid, like tyrosine, into the codons for another one, like alanine. But then what? You can't make a virus more deadly — or, at the very least, you have no way of knowing what that switch would do to the virus — by switching out one amino acid for another. No virologist living today has that knowledge; that's not how this scientific field works. Without intensive and extensive studies of the virus in human beings, which we know we need because of the inherent genetic variabilities in human populations, we cannot predict what the resultant effects in humans will be.

Of course that's true, but also this has nothing to do with actual gain-of-function research. Who the hell would try to edit a virus manually when you could just let it replicate and put selection pressure on it to get increasingly virulent strains?

Redditors don't like science, they just like sciency-sounding words that make them feel smarter than they are.

PL: I knew a girl who was basically a fedora wearing atheist and one time she was bitching about religious people and how they were ignorant and how she is superior because she's a scientist. And I was thinking, "Scientist? Bitch, you're taking one food science course at the local community college." She is the type of person who writes shit like that on reddit.

It doesn’t help that NPC’s rely on the popular opinion that mainly comes from Hollywood and celebrities that play the roles of scientists and lawyers on television.

Do Americans not learn about post-war Europe or something?

Antifa was the reason many American soldiers didn't return home. Nazi partisans were none-existant, but Antifa, specifically this exact group, went around killing British and American soldiers in Germany.

Antifa doesn't mean "Anti-Hitler", the Communists didn't differentiate and considered everything West of the Soviet border to be "Fascist"


Wow so Google really doesn't want me to find it - I had to specifically seek out the name of "Bad Nenndorf" to find the incident in question.

The British opened up a really unpleasant version of Disneyworld to handle handle counter-partisan operations after Germany surrendered. Thing is, they opened it with the expectation there would be continuation Nazi partisan fighters - there were none.

There were, however, Antifa attacks against British soldiers, so Antifa ended up getting the shit firmly kicked out of them, with several officers later facing a courtmartial for neglect and murder.

One stated, responding to the allegations:

Stephens was uncompromisingly blunt about the prisoners who had made accusations, declaring that "their motives are invariably foul, most of them are degenerates, most of them come diseased from V.D., many are chronic medical cases ... they are pathological liars, and the value of their Christian oath is therefore doubtful".

Also said:

And

This is referring to Antifa.

/r/Islam remains one of the most conservative subs left on Reddit. It continues to get away things that no other sub can.

We really are a problem for woke western lefties, they don’t know what to do about us. They can’t cancel us, they can’t criticize us without being intolerant themselves, the right hates us already, we don’t buy their BS. We’re basically immune to their normal attacks.

A tiny selection of posts that aren’t even that good, but would get you banned on any other sub.

And these people are English speakers, meaning they’re typically more liberal than normal already.
