Registrations will remain closed to the public throughout June, 2022.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I am re-opening registrations on July 4th.

During the month, I have added 3 new moderators and attempted to outline some reforms for bans. In general, the system I am trying to implement for penalties involves:
  • More direct communication between staff and user.
  • Shorter penalties and less frequent use of permanency in all types of penalty.
  • Standardized ban lengths of 7 days and 1 month for serious issues.
  • Issuing permanent bans only in cases where there are irreconcilable issues.
My hope is that clearly outlining this will make moderation decisions easier for staff and less upsetting to the people they are applied to.

I also hope that less frequently resorting to permanent account restrictions will dissuade sock/alt accounts. When someone is causing problems, sometimes they can be reasoned with. When they are thread-banned permanently, chances are they will just make a sock account and keep doing what caused the problem to begin with - now with added confusion through multiple accounts, and without regard for their account. With the openness of the forum, there is no way to adequately stop sock accounts, so I would like to find ways to encourage people to stick to one account so that registration can stay open.

So to that end, if you have been banned for over a month and would like to appeal under this new system, email <admin@kiwifarms.net> with your original account username and I'll look at the ban and warnings on the account. There are persistent problem users I am not going unban under any circumstances but you might as well shoot your shot.

If your account has endured a penalty for longer than a month (i.e. avatar ban, board ban) you can also appeal in Talk to Staff and I will look at it.

Regarding registration, it's a hard problem to solve. I'm sure the new users in July will also suck. The site needs new blood to stay alive and content fresh, but if new users don't really care about the site then their posts are going to be shit. I'll think about what I want to do before July 4th gets here.
Are we keeping the pink triangles of frenship?

Has payment for registration been considered, either now or in the past?

Maybe having to clear the bar of coughing up $5 in bitcoin or something would give morons pause. Not to mention it could help the finances. But I know that will come with its own set of problems.

Either way, I would support some sort of a brief quiz at sign up, although I doubt it would do anything serious to stop the inflow of threadshitters, so maybe it's a moot point. If there's one thing that is always true, it is that no one fucking reads, ever.
Down that path lies goldbelly pies, child estrangement, opioid addiction and eventual suicide. Also troons taking over.

I didn't even know people got banned from this site like who does that lol.

This will fuck up new people posting though, as null stated the site needs a constant stream of new people even if they are shit cunts.

Null needs to follow the lead of AAA gaming companies and monetise cosmetics while adding loot box mechanics.

"Look at my premium Nullie avatar, it was only five bucks!"

"I just bought a Nullbox for 10 Silver Null Coins, I hope I get the Golden Sonichu drop!"

I have some ideas:

Newfag colloseum- they get their own tard board where they have to agree to TOS (terms of sneed) and learn to post. This is also to be a bloodsport for our amusement.

Newfag Jail- Newfags who keep fagging on here. they are confined to only Vtuber threads or the ones on adult babies, diaper furs, cows like pamperchu and deathfat sexworkers . This is a divine punishment that is perhaps worse than a ban.

Sticker Purgatory- basically give newfags A&N stickers. Using stickers is a privilege.

Also special one for Catboy Deconversion Therapy in a section where they have to have x amount of good Kiwi Karma (positive rates like say 200) in order to get in before the groypers shit it up. I know it's hard to navigate perma autism and that we already have our pink friendship triangles, but anything helps to keep the retardation at a minimum because the groys are coming full sneed ahead and having them need to navigate points to not just account sit upon registry will take more time.
Actually using the sticker karma score for literally anything ever is a terrible idea – it encourages everything wrong with stickers like revenge rating and whining, it's fucking reddit as fuck, and it's way too easy to farm karma.

Needing new users vs. new users being awful isn't some big dilemma really, just ban users you particularly hate.

You can keep the spirit of free speech by letting everybody have their say (no matter how basic or weird and extreme their opinion is) if they can say it without shitting up threads too bad. But other than that, forums are and should be dictatorships

How about a forced lurking period?
I think everyone who wishes to actually appreciate the farms go thru a period of lurking. I was but a lurker until recent events by some lolcowtubers I was a fan of, they pushed me to start actively discussing things in threads. I think this could work but the more impatient folks who are not aware of the culture would possibly take this the wrong way.

Throw newfags into a containment thread to beat each other up until they learn the site culture. The account with the most stickers at the end of each week gets to join the rest of the site.
Yes. I second this. Like a trial by fire, if they can survive being called niggers and faggots for a week then they earned the chance to be kiwis.

Eh, I lurked for a year and a half before registration and had to go through a bunch of puzzle pieces and trash cans. No hand holding damnit. It states very clearly when you hit the register button that you should lurk for at least a year. That’s what makes this site not suck. Either learn by example or get fucked. Just my humble opinion.

I'm honestly fine with the current system of turning off non-invite registration anytime some major shooting or whatever puts a lot of eyes on this site and attracts pro-shooter/chaos edgelords en masse, and then giving everything a few weeks to cool off. The forum's been noticeably more chill overall recently, and newbies that really do want to integrate won't mind waiting.

Though one serious downside is that newbies who immediately have goods to upload on a cow will also have to wait which will slow down threads and in the worst case possibly lead to info getting scrubbed on other sites before it can be archived here.

I just want to see who appeals their ban or not. If it's for a month I will be curious to say who will message Null and hopefully get unbanned because there certainly are people who deserve to be unbanned for minuscule, petty reasons.

Unironically have newfags take a quiz on the site policies and culture before allowing them to post to solve the problem of them newfagging too hard.
This is a good idea. Drill them on using easy-to-trace usernames, whether or not to use their real name when registering an account, and make them watch the grossest lolcow sex video just to let them know what they’re in for.

Also would it be possible to bar new users from using the Autism Thunderdome for a week after registering? That might weed out some of the guys who’re only here because they got banned off pol/gab/whatever wignat shithole they crawled out of.
