So for the director of Monster Hunter, Mr. Pop-Culture critic doesn't want a man who has made several critically acclaimed and commercially successful horror and monster movies, but instead wants a guy who directed a bunch of critically savaged films based on video games that straight rip-off fight scenes shot for shot from other movies and the Resident Evil games themselves? Seriously one of the fights is a recreation straight out of one of the games. Del Toro has his issues but the man knows monsters and other supernatural creatures, he can make something completely inhuman sympathetic, terrifying, or awe-inspiring vs. Anderson where all the zombies and monsters in the Resident Evil movies are taken from Romero or the Resident Evil games and are just stuff for our 2 dimensional heros to shoot a bunch of guns at or Kung-fu kick. Its all brainless action with Bob, no attempt at a story or characterization just ninja fights and explosions.
Movie theaters are just as important as Hospitals says the manchild who cried when he realized no Superhero movies would be released this year.
The Sonic fandom is filled with degenerates drawing furry porn and writing comics about their terrible OCdonut steal characters who continue to defend it even though the games haven't been good for years. The Star Wars fandom is divided between mindless consoomers who buy anything with a Star Wars/Disney logo on it and people who are saying the writing for the franchise has been crap for years, way before Disney bought the franchise and made a woman the lead. Not wanting to consoome product and get excited for next product is the worst sin a fanbase can commit.

Besides the flagrant hipocrisy since this is a man who as an adult considered the childhood shock of realizing Yoshi Island didn't made The Mario Brothers Movie canon important enough to add to his autobiography, he literally says "Since I don't care about Monster Hunter. Who cares?" Because, as we all know, the Mario canon is such a complex lore to respect that isn't simple compared to your run of the mill JRPG, much less a franchise like Monster Hunter.
And Japan has enough of an inside market that movies games and etcetera to not need to pander to china to make it's movies financially successful.

I don't think Bob is aware the Rambo movies all have the theme "War/Violence is hell"
Whether at the end of killing the asshole cops in the first movie, or the cartel members in the last movie, just because Rambo "wins" doesn't mean a person should want to be Rambo, his friends and family all suffer throughout the series and it doesn't leave Rambo mentally or physically unscarred. The viewer sees that Rambo is mentally traumatized after the first 1/4th of the first movie lol.
It wouldn't be the end of the world if the movie industry was on hiatus for a year, besides even if you just wanted to "CONSUUUUME!" you'd have plenty of videogames (or books though I'm doubtful consuumers read many books.) to spend time on or tv series.

Boy howdy, I knew that he'd take kindly to this particular movie trailer.
Wasn't the book that this movie was based on criticized by certain people (mainly left-wingers) for propagating a "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" narrative, since the author details how he got himself out of poverty and into a more stable life (as well as describing the variety of afflictions that kept his family in such squalid conditions)? In that case, wouldn't Bob appreciate a narrative like that, since it deals with white people and according to him, poor white people are poor by choice?

Holy Jeez, Chris looks more and more like Ploppy from BlackAdder by the day.
The first scene in First Blood is really depressing. Rambo drops by his buddy's house and finds out the guy died due to cancer from Agent Orange. The whole point of the franchise is that the US Government made Rambo into a weapon and didn't really have any plan for demobilizing him and he came home with severe PTSD to a country hostile to veterans, so he keeps getting pushed into fighting despite really wanting to be left alone.

I'm no film connoisseur, so I can't claim I know the nuances of filmmaking and storytelling, but maybe if I researched about them, I would have at least a better vision of cinema and the ways it can convey stories, allegories, et cetera. Is it too hard for Acetato Roberto to study about this, so he can see and understand the intrincacies of the medium that is supposed to be his bread and butter, and thus hone his bacon-bringing skill? Just fifteen minutes a day to get off Twitter and read, form a healthy habit and make his takes actually worth something.
