I mean, taking aside the fact that everyone and his dog within certain age parameters has read (dare I say, enjoyed) Harry Potter there are basically two types of person who are obsessed with Harry Potter: Basic white chicks and social rejects.

I reckon there have always been some tension between those groups that was mostly one-sided (remember goff Slythryn vs prep Gryfendor?) and dilluted by the edgy social rejects being convinced JKR was somehow on their side against the hordes of basic white girls and basic white girls being, well, basic.

Once that it happened that the social rejects went from resenting not getting to fuck the basic white girls to resenting not being the basic white girls (because how dare young nubile white women not be silly pornhub caricatures and yadda yadda yadda) and billionaire blairite JKR was sneered at way too many times by a transvestite trotskyist at her local labour party meetings, all bets were off.

The social rejects who thought owned the fandom, if not the IP itself, felt betrayed and declared Holy War not only against JKR but against their ancestral enemy: The Basic White Girl.

This brings hilarious drama for two reasons:

First, BWG hate being shamed in any way, shape or form. Especially in matters of being thought as unemphatic, selfish or antisocial.

Second, JKR is a BWG who'd been roughed up by life enough times way before she was even famous, so I don't think she cares about being shamed. She never did.

That's why I find the attempts by troon goons at solidifying the perception of her as a fascist, alt-right, racist, antisemite, holocaust denier and pretty much anything in the book they can throw at her quite ridiculous.

You can agree or disagree with her politics (I generally disagree with her except for the troon question) but if you have been following her for years, you should know she's sincere and isn't doing things for asspats (She did flirted with woke asspats at some point, though, which, if anything, is a temptation only possible if one does have leftist leanings).

I think if that was the case that she actually was drifting right, she would be open about it. She is the sort of person that would go the Dilbert guy route if she wanted to, zero fucks given.

In fact, the only thing she could have done that would have been more controversial than what she did was going full race realist or directly punching on the nose. And honestly think if she was truly convinced that there were doubts about racial IQ differences, the Holocaust happening as described in History books, COVID, Qanon or whatever, she would have been outspoken about it zero fucks given. Not only she did not, but she did and does to this day make statements in the opposite direction.

Oh no, Dudley the bully got called fat because he was, shockingly, fat. I feel so sorry for him. Never mind the fact this is the kid that gets waited on hand and foot (part of the whole reason why he's fat; it's clearly because his parents pamper him and does a good job of visualizing the difference in the parenting attitudes between Dudley and Harry) while his relative is sleeping in a fucking closet. Not quite familiar with the redemption arc but Dudley losing weight could have also been a way of him literally shedding the shitty habits his parents taught him throughout childhood. In the story itself it might be coincidental but from a meta perspective, it could just be circling back around to that visualization of him losing his ties to the gluttonous lifestyle his parents led.
