I've been a lurker for a while, so I figured it was time I made an account and gave back with a potential lolcow. To that end, I give you Roy Philipose.

Some of you have probably seen this video that cropped up last year of a guy asking Elon Musk at a Tesla shareholders meeting for a job, referring to himself as a 'super-genius'.

I thought at first that he was either a troll or a single occurrence of a delusional man who would never crop up again, except that a couple of months ago I stumbled across his blogspot and twitter.

He refers to himself as an entrepreneur, philosopher, artist, capitalist, inventor, author, economist, and futurist. He's arguably only one of those things.

I am slightly offended you guys call me delusional and crazy. I am pretty brilliant and I hope someone recognizes me for it.

A lot of his tweets and blog posts are along these lines.

He has a slight fixation with Elon Musk. He probably sees him as a kindred spirit.

Yes, that 'RP' stands for Roy Philipose. He has a tendency to 'quote' himself often. They rarely make much sense.

TL;DR, he's a guy who constantly talks about the things he's going to do, and seems perplexed by the fact that no-one is treating him like he already has and recognize him for the genius golden child he so clearly is.

To be fair to him though, there is one thing he has actually done. Well, two things.

He's written two books, one a rambling biography/guide for other entrepreneurs like him, the other a book of his own quotes. The sarcastic reviews are at least worth a look for a chuckle.

I've been toying with the idea of starting a thread for Roy. The guy's tweets can be pretty golden when he gets the desire to rant about his intelligence/ambition/talent/projects.

That video is pretty rough. It's a very gnarly sort of cringe. You can tell he's mustering all his courage to actually go through with it, and has tears in his eyes as he goes through with his little speech. To be shut down like that must have been devastating. Thankfully, even that cant stop a super-genius.

Roy also can't seem to decide what he actually wants to do. Since I've started following him, he's gone from being an entrepreneur (http://i.imgur.com/yF7GPGi.png) to an investment manager (http://i.imgur.com/kyLKoGs.png) to a designer (http://i.imgur.com/eTiH0wJ.png) to an artist (http://i.imgur.com/zLyNPRP.png) and now he's a musician (http://i.imgur.com/z175cPV.png).

Like Atsimuel said, he just doesn't seem to get why companies and innovators are breaking down his door because he calls himself a super-genius. He seriously thinks just calling Fidelity and telling them this will get him a job as a investment manager.

One last thing. This tweet reminds me a lot of Chris in how Chris used to post his videos on Youtube and assume that only the person he was addressing it to would be able to see it:

As much as how we can get messed with in college, it's not some casino as long as you know what the college you go to is. The good jobs thing he puts on the end is only there because sometimes the economy can get into a bad state which can hurt production, causing some business owners to cut back, whether its at a factory and such (excuse the economics if its bad). Not to mention, it all depends on what fields you choose to go to. A guy who majored in computers wouldn't have interest in a factory job unless it involved something with computers (again, excuse this if it sounded dumb).
