Channel Update - Omicron Slump, Why This Channel Exists & Long Term Goals From a Self-Described Fool

(This is better as video. Split 2hr 2022-02-16 video into 6 digestible chunks with commentary)

Part 1: Dragon Pity Party

A super-depressed Dragon speaks slowly. His cat has very little time to live.

Some background that will come up later in the video: his first proper long video on his channel was after his cat died, back in 2016. The Westeros folks had not put out a review of the latest instalment in season 6, so he did it to have something to do. The video is now deleted or hidden, but the summary is that it was 2 hours of making a big deal of every change from the books while trying to seem even handed. This was shortly before THE DRAGON DEMANDS THE HEADS OF BENIOFF AND WEISS. He struggles to thing of reasons they wrote the episode differently from his expectations. It's like a girlfriend making excuses for her cheating man. In the end he gave it a positive score, so he really was a fan but making mountains out of molehills.

Depressed over cat, pandemic and no job and "with fascist insurgencies attempting to take over America" - gotta get that in there.

He's terribly afraid of the pandemic. He avoided the cinema and delayed seeing Spiderman for months, which is a huge deal for someone who lives on fantasy and sci-fi. Seems like whole family was scared of it - nephew has nightmares about it. Just last week he was saying he would not want to go to the House of the Dragon premiere, but GRRM went and got COVID anyway. Fact is they would never invite The Dragon Demands.

"I am an unemployed medieval grad student, that I... I have a master's degree in medieval studies, and a second masters in archival science ... that ... they kind of overlap with museums. And i haven't worked since 2019."

There was some drama about another Thrones channel making clickbait, and he went off on the the guy.

"If you'll remember, if you watch my channel, this is around the time i got into a really stupid fight with Ser Hunt's Reviews because I yelled at him that why you're posting any leak you hear on a daily basis? Because like i'm no different this is my sole source of income - he's me he's taking care of other people. He's supporting his family and just I got really upset. That was like the day I made that video was the day I got out of this ... this was the job interview I put all my hopes on, and I just didn't realize like ... he's putting out videos because we're all all of us are doing this. We're all trying to make money to survive in a pandemic, and I ... I got really angry at him for no reason. It was really stupid, I'm really sorry about that it's just all the other frustrations that mounted up."

He goes off on people for unrelated personal problems - combined with them getting the mainstream attention that he cannot. He has a big leak about House of the Dragon in June 2022, the day before James Hibberd broke his story about a Jon Snow show. That leak was largely ignored, and he raged at Hibberd in ways that contributed to losing admin status on the wiki. As you will see, that admin power was crucial to his pointless plans.

"Channel Update - Omicron Slump, Why This Channel Exists & Long Term Goals From a Self-Described Fool" (Split 2hr 2022-02-16 video into 6 digestible chunks with commentary)

Part 2 Why I promote HBO to get revenge on HBO

He was reporting news about 'House of the Dragon' to keep his channel alive, for cash, friendship, and to support his ultimate goal revealed later, that he will exposed Benioff and Weiss.

"I'm trying to keep the franchise alive to keep the channel from dying out because this is my only financial or social outlet most of the time. Thats how ... did I avoid getting space madness from the isolation during the pandemic. Well, like I ... I'm in the comments sections on Youtube all the time it's how i meet people like people who are like in Norway, or something."

Three years after ending, he wants to expose D&D. That will matter greatly. He wasted time in the pandemic:

"I ... I wish i had gotten more House of the Dragon stuff done or more expose on
benioff and weiss done ,and I didn't."

Obsessed with Hibberd:
"but like ... realizing ... like James Hibberd and Entertainment Weekly who are getting the exclusive interviews that you are willing to lie about the rape stuff."

Let's be clear, there were no rapes, there was a fictional portrayal of rape and journalists and fan sites did not get outraged enough about it. This Hibberd hate backfired on him, in June, costing him his admin power on the wiki.

He cannot or will not acknowledge self-deprecation, and when he does it, it comes across like humble braging. So that part his brain does not work right, and may be the cause of his outrage about D&D, two men who are frequently self-deprecating.

"They say in the blu-ray commentary the quotes about these performances these faces things, they said at Austin film fest the pilot was a disaster, not due to random chance because we don't know what we're doing. And we're con men and HBO wanted to make their money back, so they're willing to lie and say we were geniuses."

If he could shout at them in real life, maybe we would be living in the best timeline:
"... would the impact be different if I was doing this live?"

Heh wikipedia editing 'career'. Uber prestige right there....

Another cow on an insane crusade about nothing:). That said I am with him on game of thrones sucking but I don't give enough of a shit about tv shows to give them more than a passing thought. Did not even remember the plot beyond zombies, it taking forever to do fuck all, incest of various descriptions, a truly garbage finale and there was a pirate dude. Summed up, end of story. Wonder why he takes so long to say it?

Also medieval studies? Yeeeeaahhhhhh firstly it ends with 'studies' and second relevant how? Why would anyone in their right mind sign up for that degree. Clear tardage.

"Channel Update - Omicron Slump, Why This Channel Exists & Long Term Goals From a Self-Described Fool" (Split 2hr 2022-02-16 video into 6 digestible chunks with commentary)

Part 3: Why Wiki Admins Rule The World

The ego is at it's peak here, and we are talking about a man with little self awareness, so it is real treat for him to outdo himself here:

" ...all time that the wiki is the top search result for every major character ... that if you search Daenerys Targaryen, we are there.

We're the motherfucking arbiters of reality.

That when we say it, it's a fact."

That smirk.

Then he resumes comparing Benioff to Elisabeth Holmes, the convicted Theranos con woman who was in the news. Joss Whedon comes up too, the ultimate male feminist director who was found to be shouting at people.

This is what he is waiting for:
"What's the point in making a giant expose video and dumping it at a a quiet point a low in the news cycle? When people don't know to look for it? Wouldn't it make more sense to release that closer to the house of the dragon release?"

So was plotting a big expose and holding it for House of the Dragon, when there is more interest. But this summer he lost his wiki superpowers, now when can he do that? He has hidden most of the negative stuff from his channel.

Neurodivergent rights now:
"Aegon II's daughter Jaehaera is basically autistic, yeah that you i'm gonna make a video saying you need to cast an autistic actress."

"Channel Update - Omicron Slump, Why This Channel Exists & Long Term Goals From a Self-Described Fool" (Split 2hr 2022-02-16 video into 6 digestible chunks with commentary)

Part 4 Can't change, won't change.

More evidence it is all about Benioff - the wiki work, the channel, reporting on the new show:
"If the franchise keeps going, and if Benioff & Wiess keep making flops, people will eventually grow more comfortable with speaking out against them - because they're not synonymous with Game of Thrones."

Delusional. Nobody cares about the personalities 3, 4, 5 years after the end of the show.

"I live in a garage apartment in my parents house. I don't have a problem with it, but nonetheless i don't think my parents would approve of me doing this. Even though I try to tell them I look for jobs."

Zero shame. Ideally his parents are such boomers, they never find this Kiwifarms thread and suppress Rudy's entertainment activity.

It appears the wiki won't let him put in some stuff from Hibberd book. Fun fact, he contributes to two wikis - Westeros.org and Fandom Game Of Thrones. This debate about whether he is allowed to wage war on Benioff is probably private. Does not matter, fact is if his whole plan is to be an arbiter of reality and get Benioff, he has wasted his time for five years, if he cannot use it for his vendetta.

"(what) I won't be able to do is all the research I wanted to. The long process of arguing other people that this deserves to be on the wiki. That ... they said this in a book or that we need to have a section on the thing going. These are conflicting statements they made about when they planned this with Daenerys ... we need to show this to the public."

Adam Whitehead A.K.A 'Werthead' comes up again:

"I got into a bad fight with Adam Whitehead, the .. the ... the original head admin."

Spit it out boy!

"I actually cried at times. It just ... I ... I have lived with regret for that for the past six years and whenever i say that my my tagline and my my signature and in my channel description every time you see me on twitter my channel description or my forum signature "I'm a dragon that dreamt it was a man but that dream is over and the dragon is awake." I know I have anger problems, I know I am not a good person, and at times I am a dragon, and at times I pretend I'm a man I'm a good person or I dream that I'm a good person and I try to be but eventually the dragon is awake."

This is horseshit. His trans-dragon metaphor blames everything on his temper. If you look at the Werthead incident earlier in this thread, it is clear he planned it for weeks or months in advance. The deadly sin was envy, not wrath.

If he knows he is not a good person, he should stop trying to moralize about others. Everything he accuses people of is really about him.

"Channel Update - Omicron Slump, Why This Channel Exists & Long Term Goals From a Self-Described Fool" (Split 2hr 2022-02-16 video into 6 digestible chunks with commentary)

Part 5 The Long Dork Knight Of The Soul

"I'm painfully aware that I've hurt everyone who ever cared about me."

I care about him, and he's never hurt me. He is so unintentionally hilarious. Maybe by saying "care about me," he means people who try to help him. Yeah that is probably the road to disappointment.

"The ultimate end goal and i'm putting this at the end of the video um i don't think i've ever articulated this before, I increasingly think I need to write a book."

"You know i am a master's degree medieval history and stuff i know how to write an academic essay."

Publishers will stampede to his door, no doubt. His academic credentials have not yielded good analysis anyway. I doubt he will even make a free PDF of this shit. Wastes too much time trying to build clout on wikis, forums and reddit.

Proceeds to ramble about plans for his book, psychology of Benioff, Theranos lady. Is planning to work on his book after House of the Dragon Season 1 .

This was February and his timeline for the show was way off - he thought it would air in June 2022.

"Channel Update - Omicron Slump, Why This Channel Exists & Long Term Goals From a Self-Described Fool" (Split 2hr 2022-02-16 video into 6 digestible chunks with commentary)

Part 6 The Last Part.

Now it is 2 A.M. and he is even less coherent, but it is 'kino.' Rambling about covering Fire & Blood chapters, and brown women.

"All of my cats have died in summer, and the thought occurs to me of how hard it's going to be for me to bear, to dig a grave in winter."

Winter is coming. How do you make a dead cat bark? Douse it in gasoline, light it - "WOOF."

"... ultimate end goal is to make expose calling out benioff the way we did Elizabeth Holmes or Joss Whedon."

Rudy, be sure to tell your parents or sister about this ultimate end goal.

This is a metaphor for how Rudy Hartmann is building his influence among Thrones fans.

Dragon Demands Media Existential Crisis 2022-08-09.png

"To put it midly ..."

@AnyballLecter "trans-dragon" is fucking hilarious.

On a more serious note, why does Mr. Dragon call himself and some other people "Ser"? Is it something to do with the books/show (haven't read them or seen it, just find the Dragon entertaining), or is it a "titles and honours" thing (like is he claiming to have "earned" the right to be called this somewhere, similar to Knighthoods, OBE and that kind of shit)?

The latter would make it even more hilarious:

People who like to impress others often acquire Titles and Decorations. This whole thing is silly, in my opinion, but certain of these can be acquired simply by paying money and exerting almost no effort, making them even more worthless than the others.

One such "title" is Ser (I don't know what the "equivalent" is for females). You "earn" this by visiting Vietnam or Cambodia, then finding a newspaper which writes puff pieces to order (these are not uncommon). Following this you invite some local dignitary to an "event" that you host and lavish him with praise. This is the occasion that you pay the newspaper to "cover". You will probably be referred to as Ser in the "news article". After that issue of the newspaper comes out you use it to substantiate the legitimacy of your new "title".

This started in the 1990s because of a spelling mistake - reporters, not wanting to offend a foreigner who seems open-handed, would call him by the English honorific "Sir". Unfortunately they wrote it as "Ser". (This could be a local vernacular variation, IDK).

By 2007 or so you didn't even have to make any effort as there were "facilitators" who would do everything for you for a flat fee, and also ensure that the newspaper was online and had an English version.

If those two governments haven't stepped on this practice by now they're fucking stupid and useless, ESPECIALLY as it started as a joke souvenir which expats would get to prank their friends and family with.

To give an idea of why this is appealing to title-chasing egotists, the second-cheapest bullshit "decoration" is the "Cross Of St. George", a crappy medal which some self-declared "prince" living in Hong Kong will sell(sorry, "award") you for about 250-500K USD.

He is LARPing as if he was addressing knights in Westeros. It is a thing in the novels and show to spell 'Sir' as 'Ser.' It is an archaic spelling & there is a real world precedent to that spelling, apparently.

I don't know if this page is authoritative:

They say that apparently 'Sir' is a courtesy - where as 'Ser' mean you were a real knight.

The other explanation is just that 'Ser' was a variant spelling, but we finally standardised on 'Sir'. Dictionaries are relatively modern, and before that, spelling was subjective.

Thanks. I kind of thought it was something like that, but he is also exactly the kind of narcissistic individual that tends to go heavily into Titles and Decorations tomfoolery.

Well, he is very hierarchical in his world view. If he has a dispute or any interaction with someone who is the mod/admin/bureaucrat of a forum, he is very servile. When he is calling the shots, REPEC MAH AUTHORITAH.

Jordan Peterson would approve.

2021 Reddit Reviews of The Dragon Demands Youtube Investigative Reporting

He’s a delusional moron. Best stay away. If I could tell David Benioff one thing it would be to get a restraining order on him.

Lol best stay away from that one …he’s as delusional and toxic as they come. Makes things up without concrete evidence too. Seems to have an unhealthy obsession with Beinoff

I watched his channel for a while till he started going off the rails like Dany did in 8.05. By then even his insights seemed contorted by his hatred for Benioff (and thus the show and almost everyone connected with it). He often comes on r/reddit to vaunt his ideas and videos. My theory is that maybe he at one time had tried to persuade Benioff of something--for example, a story idea--or wanted a job. If he got turned down, it could explain his unhealthy obsession with Benioff.

I've watched a few of his videos and he does make some good points, BUT he always seems to go back to the point of Benioff an Weiss trying to show off their actors so they can win an award. It becomes quite repetitive to always lead back to this one point. But, in all fairness, he does make some other points as well.

dragon-demands is a complete and utter moron with zero intelligence where to get real facts about the GoT creators. Anyone who actually did real research will know d-demands just hides/ skips over facts that contradict what BS he tries to push. Have you guys heard of starwars doomcock? He's exactly the same. Makes up trash that's never true by mixing it up with tid bits of real info, changes their context to suit his BS theory that he wants to push forward. Before YouTube this stuff was done by a few like Michael Moore. Now, YouTube is full of idiots like dragon-demands who know nothing about the actual filmmaking process and just want to spread twisted lies, in this case the GoT showrunners, about how supposedly incompetent they are, all just coz he was dissatisfied and his lousy fan theories didn't come true. But rather than trying to make sense and figure out what the show's ends presented, which is what REAL fans would do, he tries to force garbage claiming it all meant nothing, which is just plain lazy and childishly inept. He actually wants to claim Daenerys burning kings landing was a last minute thing. Anyone who knows the BTS of GoT and of cos GRRM's writing style will know that is Dany's true arc was leading to just that. Anyone who says otherwise clearly doesn't get the real intent of the show/ books at all. It's actually amazing just how many internet people wanted the show to end like something out of marvel, starwars, Harry Potter, lord of the rings, where all heroes win triumphantly/ spectacularly and the evil baddies die gloriously. The show/ books have always been about Shakespearean tragedy as early as season 1 where Ned just abruptly and pathetically lost his head, crushing us all. Just think of like Romeo and Juliet - you think that kinda pathetic ending is meant to please everyone and be a giant crowd pleaser? Hell no. Neither was Season 8. That's the real Game of Thrones for you, period. Trying to please everyone where it all ends exactly how a day dreaming fan wants it is the stuff of again, marvel, Harry Potter, etc.

No, that persons an absolute moron with a mental illness.

More intervention from Alice down the thread:

You do it alllllllll the time. How many apologies do you have to give out? This has got to be exhausting for you.
“It was an open question”…. about tentacle porn, dude. It wasn’t meant to be taken seriously.

Hand wringing over 14 year old bride Daenerys and show timelines.

He's knocking out lots of small videos of small importance. The anal retentiveness is off the charts though.

This is similar to his first ever video essay (now deleted), reviewing an episode from Thrones Season 6. He is wringing his hands over small details but still trying very hard not to rage out over them. So how long before he turns against House of the Dragon?

The Dragon Demands retweeting his steroid stalker for once.

Who knew she's a white supremacist?

There's been a year of this debate over the black family in Westeros, and the anti-woke people are now celebrating House of the Dragon over Rings of Power. Good time to parody them.

Previously mentioned that The Dragon Demands is a simp for Linda Antonsson.

She's a GRRM mega fan, co-owns the Westeros.org fansite with her chubby hubby, and is notoriously based and rude about it. There's been a upswing of controversy about her because her name is on new coffee-table book coming out in October 2022. Bunch of links about her controversies below.

Two big ASOIAF twitter accounts call her out with receipts:

Small new site reports on it:

Reddit thread where her husband Elio Garcia defends her.

Next reply is the The Dragon Coping.

THE DRAGON COPING

So a pop culture website reported the controversy about Linda and she's not having it:

Back in '14 a black lady called her cracker because you had to role play as whites in her online text game. Called Linda a cracker and Linda recommended a Swedish treat to her - 'negerboll.' She just explains her 'negerboll' innuendo is about desserts:

@hippoiathanatoi · Aug 28
It was until fairly recently the perfectly acceptable term for black in Swedish. Because of the influence of English, it has fallen out of favour for sounding too close to the offensive term. I also didn't call anyone anything, I offered them a pastry:

@anay_rchist
Linda just stop. You're trash, don't make it even worse by being a coward.

@hippoiathanatoi
How charming. But trust me, that is the last thing I am. If I was, I'd shut up and that is never happening.

The Dragon Demands dismisses it:

let the tongues wag, it doesn't change the succession

That is GRRM nerd speaks for 'she's my queen, now and always.' Another dragon with a big Youtube channel is outraged, so he concedes it is counterproductive:
I don't understand the swedish to english thing, but she really shouldn't have yelled like this. It is counterproductive.

This is a later archive of the above thread:

He deleted the tweet where he said "let the tongues wag, it doesn't change the succession."

Then he gives a much more nuanced take:

Even later still he insists he got in trouble on the wiki and was told not to take sides but that is horseshit. He got in trouble for making threats.

Linda Wins The Hearts of Kiwi Farmers

In a grand display of not giving a fuck, Linda puts the matter to rest:

The Dragon Demands rambles for 40 minutes about Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power, how real fans don't care about the diverse casting, only Nahtsees have an issue with it.

He also mentions that his cat died, in case it wasn't clear all the other times he mentioned that his cat died. To be clear, this is the same cat, he's not going through cats faster than rolls of toilet paper. One dead cat.

His sense of humor in a nutshell - repeat popculture catchphrases.

In response to a scene in Amazons LoTR show where they say elves are threat to their jobs, he makes this same reference to the South Park "Their takin' yer jobs" joke.

The Dragon Gets No Respect I Tell Ya!

After his block ended and the new show, House of the Dragon aired, he got back into editing the Fandom wiki furiously for a while. For example, hours and hours of unpaid work after the first episode. Thing is that he is not an admin anymore, and it shows in how people treat him.

There is an admin 'Darth Dracarys' who is much newer that The Dragon Demands, but now he calls the shots. He started in 2017, but has 90,000 edits compared with The Dragon Demands 60,000.

He started making videos about 'Lord Of The Rings: Rings Of Power' but they have gotten dismal numbers for a channel with 25,000 subscribers.

Only one videos got more than a thousand views. It seems there is not much interest in his unstructured rambling outside of his core crusade. His loyal fans like him attacking Game Of Thrones and being anal about world it's set in.

The Dragon Demands Comes Out To His Parents.

"Mom, Dad, I am a Youtuber."

He started his channel in 2014, and at one point it total 6.9 million views, and uploaded approximately 600 videos. This was before he panicked this summer and deleted videos amounting to 2.5 million views.

Apparently all the time he kept that secret from them. He lives in a converted garage in his parent house and was unemployed for two years before Sept 2022. The jobs before that were temping or internships.

After his failed Rings of Power videos, there was a 9 day gap and then he drops ...
MAJOR Channel Schedule Update

- He got a job.
- He says he started the job 2 weeks before this video (2022-09-25) but a full month before it, he was talking about commuting. So is he obfuscating the details so Kiwifarms can't figure out where he is? He's far too clever for Kiwifarms to figure it out. Alternatively he may have known he was starting the job back then and talking about commuting as near future thing.
- He's really happy to get this job - it's a proper job using one or more of his qualifications. He has a BA in History, an Masters in Medieval History, and something in archival library work.
- He thinks he could save the deposit for a mortgage on a house in 4-5 years.
- The commute is an hour and a half to two hours. That fits for a job in Manhattan.
- He only gets $200-$300 week from Youtube.
- He will be too busy to make as many videos. That fits as the videos, wiki editing and even tweeting activity is way down now.
- This will be good for the channel as he needed a job.
- He will be more credible as apparently "the reddit trolls" were criticising him for being over qualified but no job.
- He told his family about the channel and does not need to make excuses for the time he spends on it anymore.

I guess my post on this thread got eaten by the rollback.

All I wanted to say was that I'd seen this guy around years ago, I thought he made a good point once (GOT showrunners care about BIG ACTING moments that can win them Emmys, not about good storytelling), but then he made the same point a hundred million times across ten thousand and twenty seven separate videos. And his "whatsherface has an army" LARP was embarrassing.

I suspected he was autistic but holy shit, I never thought it was this bad.

Oh, I left something out of my summary of the Sept 25 "MAJOR channel update video." His cat died in February. He mentioned that. I don't know if people who follow him know about his cat dying. It's come up before in this thread.

His first ever serious video was a review of an episode from season 6 of 'Game Of Thrones.' His cat at that time died, and six years later, another cat died. Apparently the cat deaths are important.

I thought he made a good point once (GOT showrunners care about BIG ACTING moments that can win them Emmys, not about good storytelling)

Did he though?

He claims he can write well researched and reason articles, because of his college education, and maybe he will write a book about this stuff. He cannot. His muckraking does not meet that standard.

The Dragon Demands threatened to make a damning and well-researched 'Biography of David Benioff' for years - but kept putting it off. Then before Season 8, he made a rushed rambling video out that he later deleted. You can listen to it earlier in this thread. It is kino but he only makes himself look bad.

To your point: Benioff talked about how great the actors are, it was a compliment. The Dragon Demands turned that into a claim that all he cares about is writing wild shit that these actors can perform - that is a big leap. He did not like plot points in the show - that is fair enough. There is no absolute right or wrong when writing fiction. But he was desperate to prove their choices were wrong in some absolute sense.

Another example - an old interview with Benioff talked about the 2004 Troy movie. Benioff recalled how when he was a kid, his mother got injured and was bedridden for a while, and she read 'The Iliad' to him. That lead to his interest in the story. The Dragon Demands turned that around to infer that this means his mother neglected him the rest of time. It is wild speculation that does not stand up to scrutiny.

His defenders say he does good research, but his research does not support his claims, and they are too retarded to see the leaps involved. He has talked about writing a book about these producers and 'Game Of Thrones' but he never will. When he tries to put his rants into a something more formal, he has nothing.

Bro it's not that deep.

The show did sacrifice good writing in exchange for big award-bait moments. You don't need a profound analysis of the minds of D&D to notice it; you just have to have watched the show.
