Sam's main form of comedy when dealing with other people (not talking about skits and whatnot) is to get funny reactions through edgy jokes. He's always been like that. From his early stand up stuff, to the idubbbz documentary, and even more recently where he brought on some retarded MMA guy to argue white replacement with him on a random podcast, and the host kept going "NOOOO BRO, YOU CANT SAY THAT DOOD" every other minute (I can't remember the podcast's name, because I don't care lol). There's nothing wrong with that, because the reactions can be very funny. But when you meet someone who doesn't give you said reaction, and you have nothing else to lean on when your shtick fails, you look like a dumbass. Which is what happened here. In fact, I would say Harland milked Sam for funny reactions rather than the other way around.
