I haven't really seen Jay Dyer pull the 'ol John Stewart when it comes to any of his own claims. The guy can be funny conversationally, but his "comedy" convinces me he has some level of actual autism—which I sometimes enjoy, myself also having actual autism. This is just motte and bailey but for online comedians/influencers. On one hand, these people are serious red-pill dispensers (Dyer for his purported esoteric & religious content, Hyde for his no bullshit life advice & /pol/itics), but whenever they mess up and do something that calls into question their character and whether they can be trusted for matters of the highest gravitas (Dyer in particular, for he spends large amounts of time in the sphere of the religious, concerning the ultimate state of one's very soul), they can they fall back to the "I'm just a comedian, lol why do you take me seriously at all? Losers!".
There's a reason why the role of the court jester never overlapped with the theologian or philosopher -- their goal, or 'telos' if you will, are at complete odds with each other.
He's a lot more likely to try and schedule a six-hour moderated formal debate over whatever the obscure disagreement is about than retreat into the "comedy" bailey.
