Off-Topic "Scientific" Studies regarding Transpeople

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.

If anyone has $40 to burn, this was published in the same journal 6 months later and includes most of the original authors of the paper in question. This is usually an indication that someone wrote a response that questions the methods/conclusions of the original article, and the authors responded to provide additional context, analysis, or other discourse. It probably isn't worth $40 and I doubt it will provide anything to improve the credibility of the original article, but it exists if anyone is that curious.
I'm sure someone will be willing to pay for it.

Overall, 869 and 357 patients were identified undergoing vaginoplasty and phalloplasty with 193 (22.2%) and 74 (20.7%) having at least one psychiatric encounter (Table 1). Although the overall proportion of those experiencing a psychiatric encounter was similar between the vaginoplasty and phalloplasty groups, suicide attempts were more common in the vaginoplasty group (4.4% vs. 1.7%, p=0.033). The rate of a psychiatric encounter occurring after surgery if an episode prior surgery occurred was 33.9% and 26.5% for the vaginoplasty and phalloplasty groups. The overall rates of suicide attempts doubled (3.3 vs 1.5%, p=0.017) after vaginoplasty (effect not observed after phalloplasty).
What is the final suicide rate? 3.3%? Or am I missing something? What is "psychiatric encounter"? Is that a mental episode or a meeting with a psychiatrist?

Obviously cutting off a dick desexes permanently, but what about for FTMs? Is that a permanent boner killer for them, the whole rotdog rigamarole?

The clitoris is skinned and buried --i.e., trimmed and the rotdog is installed over it. They masturbate by tugging on the rotdog and using a magic wand at the base of the rotdog in the desperate hope that the vibrations will stimulate what is left of the buried clitoris.

"Skinned" and "buried" are the technical, surgical terms, btw.

I feel like FTMs are a bit better because they don't butcher their vagoos as badly as MTFs butcher their genitals

It's possible to get "vaginal-preserving phalloplasty" and turn yourself into a literal hermaphrodite. This is a new thing; in the past women were required to have full vaginectomies and hysterectomies before getting a neophallus. I believe the trend is turning against this, though.

In the regular kind of surgery, the vagoo isn't merely "butchered"; it is entirely obliterated. The tissue is ablated (burned or cut away) and the vaginal canal is sealed shut. What's left of the external pussy gets turned into a "ballsack".

I watched a phalloplasty video and wrote an annotated post on the process, including captures from the video. It can be found here.

My only hope is maybe if we're lucky this will all turn out to be a tortured blessing, the people most susceptible to social contagion seem to be removing themselves from the gene pool. I honestly don't see how we'll survive the dystopia we're slowly creating otherwise.
My hope is that all of this will be treated by history the same way lobotomy is now; a dirty non-cure to address a myriad of issues, practically none of which required such an extreme invasive operation.

It makes me sad, actually. These are people who clearly have mental problems and with some degree of psychiatric care, counselling and medication could’ve probably led reasonably normal lives.

Now, they don’t get the chance to do that. They don’t get to build amazing lives filled with wonderful memories, filled with families that love them and friends that care for them. They just get to kill themselves. That could’ve been prevented if people just looked at the data instead of listening to retarded college students who don’t know their asshole from a hole in the ground.

What do these scientists know? They only look at objective data based on observable reality and make determinations based on that. Certainly not as empirical as how someone subjectively feels on any given day. I’m fucking foolish for even suggesting such a thing.

I feel like FTMs are a bit better because they don't butcher their vagoos as badly as MTFs butcher their genitals plus they seem to get more sex than MTFs given how often I see them getting tricked by straight men pretending to be gay to touch them.

They can forget about long-lasting relationships though.
Nah, if you follow the SRS thread, you know that most FtMs that get the rotdog often get their vagina cauterized shut after their hysterectomy.
This seems like a cope post.

2 months Post-op Vaginectomy
Beforehand, I didn’t have dysphoria when it came to my vaginal canal. I enjoyed penetration and did it quite often. The only thing that bothered me was during penetration I would get air trapped inside of my canal during sex which was very painful and it wouldn’t go away for days. After getting my vaginectomy I feel complete even despite not having dysphoria with my canal before. In the early stages of recovery I did have a feeling like it was still there and with everything not all the way healed it kind of looked like it was. I don’t care what anybody says, sitting down after a vaginectomy is HELL! I couldn’t sit down normally until week 3 and even then I still felt uncomfortable.

Now I can do everything that I did before, except get penetrated but it doesn’t bother me at all. I don’t miss my hole and I don’t regret my decision in getting a vaginectomy. I plan on getting UL, scrotoplasty, and phallus creation at my next stage. Since I got my vaginectomy before phallus creation, recovering from stage two shouldn’t be all that painful
Here's some facts about her:
  • She has a spouse and daughter
  • Only 21 years old
  • Wants a big phallus 8.5inches
  • Former hamplanet; lost 120 pounds
  • rotsausage install in 2023

Someone on r/phallo is asking about reversing a vaginectomy.

u/hdl37 she's the woman who occasionally asks about reversal in various subreddits and I'm sure I've seen her posted here before.
