I remember Sephirothslave who married Sephiroth on the Astral Plane (Archive). She was fun. Nowadays yumes are too serious.

As a regular of the old waifuism thread, I've been side-eyeing the yumeshipping community for a while now so I'll be watching this one with interest. Great work op!

Edit to avoid double posting: HOLY SHIT the mention of the mad German bint obsessed with Louis XIV of all fucking people just yeeted me back 20 years on deviant art. What was her name? Red Passion I think??? I forgot all about her lmao I think she was the first true and honest self-shipper I encountered way back when

The silly thing is, I am not aware of most people because of staying away from spaces and hanging out in my own spaces, the places I've frequented are just as if not bad as many people here whose been posted in this very thread, I remember the Seproith girl, wasn't she also apart of a home where it was a cult where a bunch of Final Fantasy Kinners live? Or is that someone else?

And if we're extending to selfshippers whose fixations extend to real people, I'd like to pitch in a mention of Angela Klecker ("Yeff" / Yeffyaboyuice / TwilightPalms). She wasn't exclusive to a single person or character, but was notorious for her dedication to pairing herself with Skrillex—then, by extension, a number of his associates. This peaked with her paying in full for, getting run around on, then refunded out of a 500 USD dinner date with one of the other producers she would frequently draw herself having sex with, Dillon Francis. Both of the aforementioned people knew what she was drawing of them.

And yes, the image captioned "Who needs food?" reveals that she blew a tax return on that date just to get told no.
She seemingly abandoned EDM by the very early 2020s, and when I last remembered she existed last year she had moved on to Metalocalypse and AEW freelance merchandising, of all things—with an officially-sold dakimakura design of a wrestler(?) she liked. I hadn't checked closely enough to see if she had stopped selfshipping entirely.

Iiirc Sonic is 15 and it's fairly frowned upon to not selfship with minors if you're an adult in the community. But yeah, good art!

She's been doing this since 2005, when she was also a teen, so Sonic's aged up with her. But she's shipped herself with everyone over the years.

Ah that's also a thing people don't like either. Aging up. But I always was like. "They have a birthday right? Sonic's anniversary date is technically his birthday. Why would SEGA give him a birthday if it's named after himself?"

It's weird. Cell doesn't have a birthday but I go off his appearance date. Feburary 6th 1999 I think?

EmuEmi/Emily Jones is the most recent selfshipper with Sonic to have blown up and gone 'mainstream' within the fanbase, it was always openly out there with her self-insert, but kept the NSFW side of it under wraps on a secret alt account on Twitter. Things really took a turn when she romanced one of the former voice actors for Sonic.

Is she still in a relationship with him? Because something tells me if someone goes after a VA for the character they like they'll ask that VA to speak in that voice forever. It seems like she probably doesn't like him for him but rather for his performance as Sonic the Hedgehog. Everyone's talking about Sans but sleeps on Sonic.

the difference, plain and simple, is that "fictosexual" people are delusional and genuinely believe their attraction to sans from undertale should be labeled as a sexuality, and the truly special types believe that in an alternate universe them and their "fictional other" are together, a la dimensional merge. i don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but that behavior is just a few steps away from the level of people saying they're "zoosexual" in my eyes.

Speaking of sonic, a self shipper I remember during the deviantart days is some selfshipper who drew her self insert with sonic and made him some yandere. Along with making him a vampire, I think. I can't exactly remember her username ,but I think she also tried to rebrand her art and AUs into some original characters, with the character still obviously being Sonic. She was controversial among the fandom because she sexualized sonic a lot, idk, I just remember thinking her art was somewhat good but weird.

Is it the one whose OC was called Lady the Hedgehog? The art was pretty good, she had to have been ESL, probably South American is my guess. I recall her english being rather stilted.

hmm, i don't think so? her oc looks like it was pretty famous as other users drew fanart of her. and it seems like I can't find any art of her vampire/yandere sonic au. I remember the user I mentioned was pretty disliked by the fandom and that's why she tried to rebrand her self insert and sonic into original characters (which was poorly btw, since she made "not" sonic into a mafia boss or something).
