They don't care for canon black characters. At most they just say "oh neat" then proceed to blackwash all light skin characters in that show.

I know this is kinda late, but the answer is really stupid. It’s because the canon black characters that do exist in their fave media aren’t the “main/popular” characters, so they ignore them completely.
And most of these artists have huge platforms that they could use to make that character popular but would rather do… this shit instead.
Javiera/DtM herself admitted to doing this when she was still on Twitter’s good graces.
As you can see on the first screenshot, every time she gets called out she deletes the comments and says that it's the others who have a problem not her.
