Thoughts:

Bethel School District v. Fraser set the precedent that speech the school finds disruptive to learning is not protected on campus, specifically "whether the speech is offensive to prevailing community standards". An anti-gay message might make gay students at the school feel unwelcome or threatened (as Ittner intended on keeping them from enrolling) and in the current pro-LGBTQ climate there is no way this would win any court at any level. The school even attempted to mediate with Ittner before disciplining him so there's no foul by the school.

The mass sending of emails is curious as well. I wanted to say it was in some violation of the SPAM Act, but that specifically relates to marketing. I'm wondering at what point this constitutes harassment, and more interestingly, as it is directed at faculty of an educational facility he attends/attended, it could fall under cyberbullying laws, which is what they are designed to protect.

Any one of the several hundred faculty he spammed could have complained of a hostile work environment as a result of that message. Whether they would have had grounds to do anything but yap to their department chairs (who were probably, given the size of the school, among the faculty copied) is not my wheelhouse -- unlike AnOminous, IANAL. I have no idea whether they could have brought suit against Tyrants Liker for causing a hostile work environment, or against the college for allowing it. But I sure as hell know anyone who was closeted and worked there anyway; anyone who thought the posters simply went too far; any faculty member out of those few hundred could have made their chair's life hell, especially if Tyrants Liker happened to be in one of their classes -- like VCU English professor Nikki Giovanni raised hell about Seung-Hui Cho's behavior in her class, which was sadly not enough even to compel a legal adult to attend treatment. Since being an academic department chair is a quick route to being about as popular as ebola, pushing the issue up the chain of command would have been their immediate next step to cover their own asses.

It kills me how he could totally have de-escalated at so many points in this process. Even the not-top-tier students at the local state school (or those too poor to attend the nearby private liberal arts college) manage to get it through their heads that if you want to hang a poster in a school building, it has to have that "Approved" stamp from the student activities people. Posters for plays, for homecoming, fucking violin recitals, whatever. If he didn't have that Rusty Greer/Autphag-tier USI, he could have backed down at any time and be holding a diploma right now. However, the constant changing of the story from "muh tism" to "you're all fake Catholics" to "you just don't like me" really wouldn't have helped his case with the college.

Also, a private school? Money-making business. There's an art school nearby that over the years has upgraded from offering two-year associates' degrees to going through the certification process to offer bachelor of fine arts degrees, and has added 3-D animation as a major, and now architecture. They really have no illusions that they're turning out the next Frank Lloyd Wright or Pixar employees. They're selling degrees, despite having nowhere near the fame or faculty talent of the place Andrew Dobson went. And businesses, ultimately, have the right to refuse service, especially with this long-ass paper trail of what a pain in the place's collective ass Tyrants Liker was being. They hardly needed to spring the bureaucracy mousetrap. He ran up almost to the cheese and jumped up and down on that lever himself.

Edit to add: Another anagram of "Skylar Ittner" is "Retry Stalkin'," which I guess he may be trying to do through the courts next?

any way we could find out what his scholarship was exactly? Was it only to Carrol? or was is faith based? Why did he go to Carrol (and why did his mother let him) if they knew it was a non-gay-hating catholic school.
I imagine he went to Carroll primarily because it's in his hometown (so he could continue to live at home), it's at least nominally a Catholic school, and academically it's a decent choice. But it's also small (only about 1500 undergrads), which may have been seen as another advantage.

Some kids get overwhelmed at huge state schools, and small liberal-arts colleges are better suited to their particular wants and needs. For a sheltered, coddled, homeschooled kid, especially one on the spectrum, a smaller school is almost always going to be a better choice. And for a sheltered, coddled, homeschooled kid who is on the spectrum, and who has been infected with a dogmatic, legalistic, cold-blooded version of Catholicism by his crazy, controlling mother (and no doubt complicit father), the small, local Catholic liberal-arts college will be the default option, even if it's not so ideologically pure as they believe it ought to be.

It's quite amusing that all he had to do was shut the fuck up when that first email arrived. He sent a full fucking email detailing why his posters were okay to post. It wasn't even the Lol that busted him. He's so defensive over his autistic posters, they're the chicken tendies to Skyler. He asked staff to promote his gay website and praise his mediocre posters! This is a fucking gold mine of comedy!

As a Catholic I'm just happy that for some reason we don't actually get a ton of these type fools. Skylar would seem better suited for the Westbrook Baptists. It's a damn shame they hate Catholics about as much as they hate the gayz and the Joos. It's also obvious that Skylar was homeschooled, and not subject to any actual Catholic Education. One Nun with a ruler would have solved the bulk of his problems in a very very short time. First rule of Catholic School, you don't get to make or questions the rules!

He really looks his age... if you don't know his age by number. Seriously though, how many staff do you think mistook him for a kid? Imagine seeing that face putting up posters in the halls, there's no way you wouldn't feel freaked out when realizing that the guy was a student.

I dont know if you have had an opp to read all the PDFs he has on the site, but I went through the timeline couple nights back and read everything. Like I mentioned, he has the autistic linear thinking trait so everything is perfectly organized chronologically. I just started at the first event and went through it all. Listened to first audio thriller while reading. If you have yet to do that, you may want to. The PDFs are hyperlinked at the bottom of the event if one is present. Like the audio, a lot of the docs contain stuff that is worthy of a read for more laughs.

I bring the docs up because I don't believe anyone mentioned his counter-proposal to the school after that fun 1st encounter. Here is his counter-proposal:

Kind of a ballsy counter-proposal, in an autistic sort of way. Skylar "Dang Dirty HOMOS" Ittner certainly sets his sights high when choosing an exceptionally impossible goal.

I'm assuming you're referring to Westboro Baptist, and say what you want about their beliefs but unlike Skylar they actually have the balls to call people faggots to their face.
