I've noticed she has a weird history of publicly reminiscing on the past in general, more specifically herself. Everybody reminisces, sure, but I don't see the point in the various times she's drawn her past personas from years ago as if they're separate people. In a weird way it feels kind of like she's idolizing herself, I mean she's definitely self obsessed. Just look at all the art she's made before that is quite literally just variations of herself having an orgy together lol.
It's kind of hard to name very specific instances because she's done it so much, but I feel like a minor reason she doesn't ever change is because she constantly idolizes and hyper focuses on her past selves. Of course not the only contributing factor ever, but I reckon when you're constantly feeling bad for yourself and your actions from the past (most of which were not very good), you become kind of blind to your own mistakes. She definitely knows what she's doing is wrong, otherwise she wouldn't feel the need to make insane excuses for everything -- or maybe she's just seriously retarded? I don't know.

On the topic of Birdie's weird "idolizing-past-selves-from-different-points-in-time-and-acting-like-they-are-different-people" thing, you can see a lot of this on her DeviantArt.
