Large percentage of self-professed 'oldfags' has most likely severe autism (after all, they continue to actively use chan boards well into their late adult life when most people would usually be concerned more about their job and family than about random shitposts on the internet), and autistic people are well-known to enjoy repetition and hate changes. Therefore, anything that breaks their 15 year old daily ritualposting routine makes them go into spastic rage. They are also very obsessed with 'chan culture' and any deviations from the norm is basically the worst thing ever and they can't comprehend a joke unless it was recycled previously for at least a decade.
