I'm pretty sure it involved a lot of evocations of "Honor is a Mary Sue, she only wins because her enemies are dumb," and lots of "David Weber writes techwank." That latter one is less the Honorverse and more some of his older series, the 5th Empire and Dahak and all that, but it was shitposting, so you know. I like a lot of Weber's work, Honor isn't always my cup of tea, so it was more Honorverse autists being smug and insufferable. That was always a good way to get people jumping on your fandom back then, there was only so much "Honor is amazing and we use grav sails to be invincible and x-ray missile spam solves all problems!" you can take. It wasn't serious business, but some fandoms were more serious than other. The 40k posters were always tongue in cheek about being absurd, so they didn't get that much shit. Just sometimes "The Empire from 40k vs. The Empire from Star Wars," which usually led to "Who's the worse shot, Guardsmen or Stormtroopers?"Lmao as an Honorverse fan how did you do that?
What series is this? Not the same thing as Yudkowsky's HPMOR?Along with of course the touch of selfish "I can do better than any of the characters in that book series!" that drives them to try and maximize power. An interesting holdover from that autistic series of fanfics of harry potter called rational.
No, the very same. What series is this? Not the same thing as Yudkowsky's HPMOR?
All I remember from wildbow (worm author)'s quest is that you were playing as the leaders of the local superhero government police force thing, and one of the superpowered kids assigned to you was an absolute shitbag who would disobey orders and pretty much sabotage missions, but you weren't allowed to do anything about it. It went far beyond bureaucratic malaise and red tape and into "Real world organizations don't work like that" real fast.Lmao really? I haven't read it but isn't it something of a trope on Worm that people deconstruct and try and be realistic about superheroes and superpowers or am I mistaken? Because if that is the case people pulling a fast would would be quite literally what is expected. But apparently the dude threw a fit?
Can we get some more context and explanation? It might explain why there is so much Worm but apparently not much with the sequels of it.
Not only that but it of course made them fail without any means to address it. Anyone would get mad at this, and especially SBers. Still doesn't stop them from writing about Worm for some reason though. All I remember from wildbow (worm author)'s quest is that you were playing as the leaders of the local superhero government police force thing, and one of the superpowered kids assigned to you was absolute shitbag who would disobey orders and pretty sabatoge missions, but you weren't allowed to do anything about it. Made more hilarious is that "On Sabbatical" banner means he's a mod himself, but is either taking a break for awhile or been told "we're firing you, but we don't want to go through the full effort and drama of firing you".View attachment 6241707
On a quick look at the end of one of the loop threads and I see this. Guy posts 1 post about Deadpool and a jannie immediately comes over and puts in a big formated box about how he shouldn't do that to the precious thread.
Yeah, guess that's what they learned from the Anthene tranny janny fiasco. Make the mod firing more subtle.Made more hilarious is that "On Sabbatical" banner means he's a mod himself, but is either taking a break for awhile or been told "we're firing you, but we don't want to go through the full effort and drama of firing you".
Gonna follow this thread since it has a lot of potential. Powerscaling is infested with magnitudes of autistic sperging and raging, it's genuinely some of the funniest shit i've read, good thread so far. For a "hobby" that's all about discussing the hypothetical scenarios between fictional characters and their worlds, i've often see politics being rammed into these environments and i don't get why they insist on doing this, it's retarded but entertains me nonetheless
Gendercide: The Romanian Iron Guard regime in 1984, in response to the Bucharest-based socialist uprising and Comintern intervention, mobilizes every "able-bodied adult" male it can find (read: able to carry a hand grenade) to fight off the Reds or die trying in a desperate bid to "save" Romania from Communism. When the dust settles and the Comintern forces prevail, it is revealed that 90 percent of the male population of Romania dies in the bloodbath, which leads the new female-dominated Red Romania to hastily seek measures to address the massive gender imbalance on top of the desolation of much of the country outside the Bucharest region. This includes everything from relatively mundane policies like encouraging male-skewed immigration from other parts of the Comintern and providing conventional Natalist incentives to more radical solutions like adopting revolutionary gender-noncomformative family policies, legalizing polyamory and conducting experiments in communal living and child-raising.
shit is beyond psuedosciencepowerscaling in general is a potential goldmine
